The Evolution of HR

In the last decade, the human resources industry has changed immensely, all the while battling a reputation as a cost center rather than a revenue generator. As we all get used to the changes (even those that are still to come), let’s discuss why HR needed the overhaul and what it looks like now.

Then…

HR did everything from employee relations to handbooks and benefits along with enforcing rules about how to perform within the company. (Hence the HR reputation)

Now…

HR is transitioning to a more business minded, proactive department that acts as the voice of the employees.

Instead of being considered a simple personnel department, HR is a business partner that affects both the bottom line and top line results.

To learn more about how HR is making this transition, read my full blog originally posted on St. Thomas’ Opus Magnum blog.
