ASC Administrator

Lead the development and build out of a new ambulatory surgery center. Work closely with stakeholders, architects, and contractors to ensure optimal outcome. Possess a working knowledge of ASC regulatory, accreditation, payer contracting, staffing, scheduling, patient throughput, and daily operations.

Job Description

The ASC Administrator is responsible for day-to-day operations for not only the ambulatory surgery center, but its associated clinics. This includes, but is not limited to, organizing, and directing overall operations for the Practice according to its policies, procedures, goals, and objectives. The Administrator ensures that the Practice meets all relevant local, state, federal, and accrediting-body rules and regulations.

The ASC Administrator will report directly to the CEO.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for communicating and embodying the company’s mission, vision and values, as well as the goals; to all staff, patients, providers, and associated partners of the organization.
  • Responsible for providing leadership and guidance in terms of goal setting, problem solving, resource management, and outcome achievement.
  • Responsible for the management and oversight of performance objectives, dashboards, metrics, KPIs, and other center reporting.
  • Ensures that quality improvement data, patient reported outcomes, and patient satisfaction scores align with center goals.
  • Responsible for financial metrics, partnering with finance executives, ensuring the practice has the ability to achieve outcomes within allocated resources.
  • Responsible for the appropriate regulations for running an ambulatory surgery center and outpatient clinics.
  • Functions as a partner, using their established network to collaborate with other centers to create systems and problem solve ongoing issues that impact the practice, organizational goals, and/or patient care delivery.
  • Responsible for all center assets through appropriate asset management, protection, and coverage of all inventory, financial accounts, corporate documents, employee and credentialing files, financial records, and the like.
  • Responsible for the ongoing development of direct reports and staff.
  • The Administrator should be able to demonstrate the ability to cope with change and manage in a professional capacity and encourage and model the same for the team.
  • Functioning as a bit of a startup, the Administrator will be responsible for other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree is required, Advanced Degree is highly preferred
  • Current or previous ambulatory surgery center operations experience required
  • Current or prior operations experience in a physician-owned, independent, specialty setting  required
  • Healthcare management experience with ownership and demonstratable results of metrics, dashboards, and KPIs is highly preferred
  • Previous experience and knowledge of development of ambulatory surgery centers is required
  • Financial management experience is highly preferred
