Our client is a local, privately owned, and operated construction company that specializes in directional drilling, property restoration, and aerial placement.

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Generate accurate and timely financial management reports, including internal and external monthly financial statements and account analysis.
• Work with Controller to develop accurate and timely work and to facilitate monthly reporting to executive management.
• Record journal entries required to reflect monthly activity.
• Prepare documentation supporting the monthly close process and month-end balances.
• Assist with month-end and year-end financial closeout process, including the annual audits.
• Calculate weekly WIP calculations using construction in progress tracking and reconciliations.
• Maintain fixed asset registers, conduct annual fixed asset audits, monitor asset tagging. retire assets as they are traded in, sold, disposed of or taken out of service. Record gains or loss on sale or disposal of fixed assets.
• Process and file 1099s
• Process credit applications
• Other duties and special projects as assigned

Required Skills and Experience:

• Minimum five years’ experience in general accounting; construction experience preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting
• Proficient in Microsoft Office suite
• Strong attention to detail and held accountable to high levels of accuracy; understands deadlines and meets them.
