The Assistant Controller will report directly to the Controller and supervise Accounting staff. The successful candidate will be a key partner to the executive team, functional leaders, and the private equity sponsor.

Roles & Responsibilities:
- Prepare and analyze financial statements in compliance with GAAP.
- Assist in month-end and year-end closing processes.
- Oversee manufacturing accounting, particularly work-in-progress (WIP) accounting, to ensure accurate tracking of production costs.
- Develop and maintain robust cost accounting systems and procedures to analyze and control expenses effectively.
- Ensure adherence to industry-specific revenue recognition standards and collaborate with relevant teams.
- Manage sales tax compliance processes, ensuring accurate reporting and timely submissions in line with state and local regulations.
- Oversee payroll processing, ensuring precision and compliance with relevant laws and regulations. Provide support in addressing payroll-related matters.
- Conduct comprehensive financial reconciliations to maintain financial accuracy and integrity.
- Lead and mentor accounting professionals, providing guidance and support to ensure the achievement of departmental goals.
- Collaborate on budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
- Maintain internal controls.
- Communicate financial insights to non-financial teams.
- Contribute to special projects and process improvements.
- Determine & create Ad hoc financial reports.
Required Skills & Experience:
- A Bachelor’s degree from four-year college or university in Finance, Accounting, or a relevant STEM field. A Master’s Degree is a plus, but not required.
- 4-7 years of relevant and progressive experience, ideally in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience with operations finance or plant controllership. Private equity or printing industry experience is a plus.
- Experience building financial packages and presentations for an executive audience.
- People management experience
- Experience partnering with functional leaders outside of Finance.
