Assistant Controller (ID:44219)
Exciting opportunity to build a best in class Accounting process at a locally operated PE-owned company!
The Assistant Controller will report directly to the Controller and supervise Accounting staff.  The successful candidate will be a key partner to the executive team, functional leaders, and the private equity sponsor.

Roles & Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and analyze financial statements in compliance with GAAP.
  • Assist in month-end and year-end closing processes.
  • Oversee manufacturing accounting, particularly work-in-progress (WIP) accounting, to ensure accurate tracking of production costs.
  • Develop and maintain robust cost accounting systems and procedures to analyze and control expenses effectively.
  • Ensure adherence to industry-specific revenue recognition standards and collaborate with relevant teams.
  • Manage sales tax compliance processes, ensuring accurate reporting and timely submissions in line with state and local regulations.
  • Oversee payroll processing, ensuring precision and compliance with relevant laws and regulations.  Provide support in addressing payroll-related matters.
  • Conduct comprehensive financial reconciliations to maintain financial accuracy and integrity.
  • Lead and mentor accounting professionals, providing guidance and support to ensure the achievement of departmental goals.
  • Collaborate on budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
  • Maintain internal controls.
  • Communicate financial insights to non-financial teams.
  • Contribute to special projects and process improvements.
  • Determine & create Ad hoc financial reports.

Required Skills & Experience:
  • A Bachelor’s degree from four-year college or university in Finance, Accounting, or a relevant STEM field. A Master’s Degree is a plus, but not required.
  • 4-7 years of relevant and progressive experience, ideally in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with operations finance or plant controllership.  Private equity or printing industry experience is a plus.
  • Experience building financial packages and presentations for an executive audience.
  • People management experience
  • Experience partnering with functional leaders outside of Finance.
