Job Description

Reporting to the Total Rewards Leader, the Benefits Lead manages and oversees benefit offerings and wellness programs for a 3,000-person company operating in almost all 50 states. The incumbent is responsible for the administration of all health, welfare and retirement benefits, leave of absence management, and promoting wellness.

  • Administer employee benefit plans including health, life and disability insurance; 401(k) plan; FSA's; supplemental benefits and COBRA
  • Oversee and manage all leave of absence requests
  • Respond to advanced benefit inquiries from employees
  • Perform analytical work related to benefit plans including billing preparation, benefit reports, and monthly reconciliation of GL entries
  • Review annual benefits renewal for health and welfare benefits with vendors and consultants for services, premiums, and plan administration
  • Oversee administration of the 401k retirement program
  • Maintain Executive Non-Qualified plan and oversee annual open enrollment including communications
  • Lead the open enrollment process
  • Coordinate and facilitate open enrollment meetings for eligible employees; prepare HRIS system enrollment process and maintain updated benefits informational materials
  • Develop and implement employee wellness related activities
  • Oversee workers compensation incidents, OSHA 300 log and all associated reports, postings, and investigations. Collaborate with supervisors, injured workers and insurance carrier to ensure good outcomes on workers compensation injuries
  • Participate in safety committee initiatives
  • Manage short-term and long-term disability LOAs including reports from vendors, payroll administration and communication with employees
  • Prepare and submit all organizational and government reporting of benefits
  • Ensure company compliance with all applicable local, state and federal regulations

 

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 5 – 7 years of employee benefits administration experience

 

Additional Qualifications:

  • Professional designation (CBP, CEBS, PHR, SPHR) a plus
  • Understanding of Human Resources including knowledge of federal and state regulations on employee benefits, Consumer Driven Health Plan, and Worker’s Compensation
  • Proven experience implementing wellness programs
  • Highly analytical with strong attention to detail
  • Ability to translate problem/issue into appropriate data set, perform analysis, draw conclusions
  • Experience presenting and delivering data and benefits information
  • Resolution-driven: desire to fully understand problems, identify a range of possible solutions, get opinions and buy-in from appropriate parties, and expedite a solution
  • Strong computer skills to include PowerPoint, Excel, Word and HRIS
  • Ability to work independently, multi-task, and prioritize many competing demands
