Job Description


GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Supervise, manage and direct the billing and accounts receivable department.
  • Develop and maintain plans to improve the revenue cycle and streamline effective billing, compliance and collections processes.
  • Eliminate write-offs and lost revenue due to systems and processes.
  • Maximize the reimbursement and minimize denials and write-offs.
  • Provide for the effective collection of accounts receivable.
  • Maintain charge-master and pricing.
  • Manage third party payers, contracts and reimbursement.

PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS: 
  • Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in accounting, finance, business or related field
  • 5 years medical billing and A/R experience, including 3 year supervisory
  • Thorough knowledge of revenue cycle for Critical Access Hospitals and medical clinics
  • Thorough knowledge of third party payer rules and regulations (i.e. Medicare, Medicaid, managed care, workers comp), as well as self-pay credit and collections principles, regulations and standards
  • Experienced with charge master, EDI claims, medical billing, EHR (i.e. EPIC), claims scrubber (i.e. TruBridge) and insurance verification software and systems
  • Basic knowledge of ICD-10, CPT/HCPCS, and medical terminology
  • Insurance contract analysis experience
  • Proficient with MS Excel and Word
  • Leadership skills which promote teamwork and motivation
  • Proven ability to improve process effciencies and solve problems
  • Strong analytical, time management, communications, and organizational skills
