Job Description

The basic function of the Chief Financial Officer is the accountability for the administrative, financial, and risk management operations of the company, to include the development of a financial and operational strategy, metrics tied to that strategy, and the ongoing development and monitoring of control systems designed to preserve company assets and report accurate financial results.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Act as Chief Financial Officer and strategic business partner to senior executive leadership team
  • Assess and evaluate financial performance of organization with regard to long-term operational goals, budgets and forecasts
  • Provide insight and recommendations to both short term and long-term growth plans of organization
  • Identify, acquire and implement systems and software to provide critical financial and operational information
  • Create and establish yearly financial objectives that align with the company’s plan for growth and expansion
  • Oversee cash management and bank financing as needed 
  • Supervise Accounting, IT and Quality staff
  • Prepare and present monthly financial reports; monthly profit and loss, balance sheet, and cash flow, actual vs. budget by division and other reports as requested
  • Review and analyze monthly financial results and provide recommendations
  • Identify, develop and execute analysis of business initiatives, product launches, capital equipment investments, and/or new service offerings
  • Develop and maintain monthly operating budget and annual company operating budget
  • Perform annual Employee Performance Evaluations of direct reports
  • Support, coach & lead the implementation of LEAN and cost reduction programs
  • Review and negotiate key contracts 
  • Oversee preparation of annual financial statement audit and quarterly and annual tax estimates/returns 
  • Oversee annual employee benefits plan renewal
  • Oversee organization's risk management policies and procedures including insurance coverage 
  • Contract with outside services as needed to satisfy the requirements needed for each project
  • Perform other duties as requested from time to time by the CEO & President

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in Finance/Accounting
  • MBA, preferred
  • CMA and/or CPA professional designations, preferred
  • Eight to ten years of progressive experience in a senior management level in a product manufacturing environment
  • Proven experience as CFO, financial officer or relevant role in a manufacturing organization 
  • Demonstrated ability developing accurate income statement, balance sheet and cash flow statement (monthly & annual) – developing P&L, annual and adjusted budgets
  • Proven experience leading year end closing and tax management
  • Excellent knowledge of data analysis and forecasting methods
  • Proficient in the use of financial management & business system software (Epicor)
  • Ability to strategize, solve problems and understand broader business aspects and flow
  • Lean background and proven implementation to solve problems
  • Strong leadership, organizational, communication and people skills
  • In-depth knowledge of corporate financial law and risk management practices

  • Great communication skills and ability to lead others to be good communicators
  • Ability to facilitate brainstorming cross functional teams and implement ideas from others
  • High energy, detailed and focused approach
  • Demonstrated ability to identify and lead cost reduction initiatives

  • Demonstrated ability leading cash/capital management
