Job Description

A privately held, innovative development, design, and wholesale distribution company, is seeking to hire a CFO to provide financial leadership and vision.  The CFO serves as a member of the Executive Leadership Team and is responsible for strategic planning and business development, financial management, IT strategy, legal and intellectual property, treasury requirements, quality system management, risk management, administration, facilities, and people operations/HR.

CFO will be responsible for the development and enhancement of the Finance & Accounting team, HR management, and IT and Systems management. The person in this role must be a highly capable executive who embraces positive change, innovation, has a track record of success and deep experience in Finance.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Lead, with the President, the Company’s strategic planning process and contributes to the evolution and execution of the Company’s Plan.
  • Lead the annual business planning, budgeting and financial forecasting processes.
  • As a member of the Executive Leadership Team, provide strategic value by exploring and presenting options to complex business situations.
  • Ensure accurate, timely and relevant financial reporting is meaningful to the business and ensure the integrity of all financial and regulatory reporting, internal controls, processes and systems
  • Manage business development and long-term capital requirements.
  • Direct the development of resources and technology to ensure strong financial and operational performance.
  • Develop IT and systems strategy and roadmap which supports the business being conducted smarter, faster and more efficiently; manage internal and external resources required to implement strategy.
  • Collaborates with the IT Manager to ensure proper alignment of privacy and security policies.
  • Direct all activities related to legal contracts and disputes in conjunction with the parent company legal counsel; manage Company’s Intellectual Property to promote value of its brands.
  • Proactively assess and manage the Company’s cash flow needs working with the parent company on treasury management and banking requirements.
  • Working with the parent company, ensure Company has appropriately insured for risk.
  • Lead People Operations function which includes payroll, benefits and all items related to hiring and retaining top talent for the Company.
  • Serve as the Company’s key liaison with the parent company for financial reporting, tax, cash management business insurance, benefits, legal, contracts, IT and HR related requirements.
  • Direct reports include People Operations Manager, Controller, Senior IT Manager, and Senior Financial Systems Manager.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in accounting, finance, or related field, with a strong preference for an MBA and/or CPA
  • Relevant work history to include a minimum of 15 years of experience in financial management, 5 years of HR management, and 5 years of IT management.
  • Experience with a non-commodity service-based business model in an innovative design, development, and wholesale distribution industry.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Suite, an Excel genius experienced with data reporting tools, as well as significant systems experience, with Microsoft Dynamics and Prophix CPM a plus.
  • Work history includes a customer centric environment where all employees are exceptionally passionate about getting behind the mission of the organization.
  • Experience in driving the budgeting and planning process, while providing the appropriate information to decision makers for execution of the plan.
  • Experience with people operations and development of the human resource function within an organization.
  • History of being a proven team player working collaboratively across all departments with an organization.
