The CISO is a senior-level executive responsible for safeguarding an organization's information assets by developing and implementing an information security program, which includes procedures and policies designed to protect enterprise communications, systems and assets from both internal and external threats.  They ensure the company's IT infrastructure is secure through the detection, containment, and remediation of IT threats including the management of incidents across the entire enterprise; ensuring they are properly identified, analyzed, communicated and resolved.

Roles and Responsibilities:
  • Infrastructure security
    • Ensure appropriate controls are in place for the security of information assets.
    • Safeguard information by seeing that security risks are identified, assessed and accurately reported.
    • Manage internal and external security audits, including remediation of findings (i.e., GCR, IVS, penetration testing, social engineering tests, etc.).
    • Acquire tools (i.e., Tenable) and develop a schedule to regularly assess and report on network security for Headquarters, and all branch offices.
  • Software & Systems security
    • Create inventory of systems and develop plans for auditing and reporting on access and security levels.
    • Manage security software (i.e., ESET, ConnectWise, etc.) and reporting.
  • Manage information security programs and policies.
  • Assist with development of cybersecurity training programs.
  • Business continuity programs.
  • Deployment of infrastructure devices (servers, SANs, backups systems, firewalls, etc.).
  • Develop and uphold the company’s culture, mission, and vision. 
  • Management of end user support team (5 employees)
  • Complete training as assigned and comply with all regulatory requirements. 
  • Comply with all regulatory requirements.
  • Additional duties as assigned.

Required Skills and Experience:
  • 10+ year’s experience in combination of risk management, information security and IT
  • Experience in banking, mortgage, investments (highly regulated environments)
  • Strong understanding of corporate finance and performance management 
  • Commitment to excellence and high standards 
  • Ability to work with all levels of management 
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills 
  • Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm 
  • Innovative thinking and leadership with an ability to lead and motivate cross-functional, interdisciplinary teams
  • Knowledge of common information security management frameworks, such as ISO/IEC 27001, and NIST.
  • Good judgement with the ability to make timely and sound decisions
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related discipline
  • Certified Information Security Manager, issued by ISACA, or Certified Information Systems Security Professional, offered by ISC.
