Reporting directly to the President, the Chief Operating Officer (COO) will lead, manage, and hold accountable the employees if the Company within their respective areas of responsibility. All aspects of the day-to-day operations are under the purview of the COO. Direct reports initially include those in plumbing distribution and will eventually include all other areas of the Company.

Responsibilities includes strategic planning to develop plans to ensure the company's growth, competitive position, and meeting the expected profitability goals. This position is responsible for the overall success of their areas of responsibility. As a leader, the COO sets the tone for management to provide the employees with a safe and positive work environment which includes career opportunities, model and encourage company values and promote employee development for the future. The general objective is to treat all employees as the most vital asset.

Roles & Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for working with the President in developing strategic plans, objectives, budgets, and giving general direction to managers as to approvals, goals, and general company policies.
  • Lead, manage, and be a resource as needed, in operational activities of all departments to meet growth, cost, quality, and customer service goals.
  • Implement necessary plans to ensure that proper resources and follow-up are committed to agreed-upon objectives, responsible for achieving goals on time and within budget.
  • Develop, maintain, and promote standards for Manager accountability, capital purchasing and development, and other critical business elements.
  • Keep current on information and technology affecting functional areas to increase innovation, which includes being active in relevant industry associations to network and obtain awareness of new best practices being used in the industry.
  • Responsible to work with the President diversifying the organization to provide stability, new markets and establish future profitability for the company.
  • As the COO, you will strive towards earning respect and admiration of all employees by promoting, communicate and encourage positive company values throughout the organization.
  • Coach, mentor, and foster a high level of engagement that sustains a committed and passionate workforce, while at the same time, leading, managing, and holding people accountable in a supportive and servant leadership style. Actively develop managers and department supervisors for the future.
  • Review and approve all annual division and project budgets.
  • Drive collaborative synergy in the relationships between the Company’s divisions.
  • Assume other duties as assigned.

  • Hands-on operations professional who can optimize quality with a focus on systems, superior service, expense control and supporting organizational policies and procedures
  • Impactful management style, knowledgeable and creative -- history of developing business relationships with customers, vendors, and potential sales partners.
  • Strong business acumen and understanding of finance and accounting -- interpreting financial statements, cash-flow management, budgeting, and forecasting
  • Systematic thinker who represents the organization through participation in meetings and special projects with the goal of advancing accountability and improving performance
  • Utilizes customer service standards including increased technology adoption and assists in removing obstacles that slow down practical changes within the organization.
  • Individual with strong work ethic, initiative, and drive - a relationship builder with coaching and teambuilding skills who can motivate a team to grow and excel.
  • Strong business analytical and critical thinking skills
  • Genuine and effective communicator who relates well at all levels and who builds and nurtures trust and confidence at all levels within the company as well as outside as an ambassador.

Required Skills & Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field; operations, finance, or business administration.
  • Master’s degree in business administration a plus.
  • A minimum 10 years’ experience in a leadership role with a business model that includes multi-location supply chain and distribution of a tangible product.
  • Highly organized
  • Management style and personality profile include the qualities of resilience, strong work ethic, focused, unselfishness, humility, fairness, dedication, and trustworthiness.
