Job Description

Our non-profit client is looking for a Compensation Consultant to join their team for a 2+ month engagement. For this contract, our client is open to someone working part-time or full-time depending on their qualifications and availability. This Compensation Consultant will be helping to refresh their current compensation structure and help other managers learn how to implement best compensation practices. The focus for this Compensation Consultant will be to assess and revise their current salary bands.

 

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Perform job description analysis and classification
  • Utilize job surveys such as Mercer and Radford to map new job descriptions to market matches
  • Ensure data and compensation plans are tracked accordingly in HRIS software
  • Provide support, analysis and execution of projects around compensation structure, job description classification, and survey data analysis
  • Assist with preparation of compensation plans, as well as review, analyze, and recommend changes to current compensation plans
  • Analyze and manage compensation survey data
  • Develop relationships with HR Business Partners to ensure appropriate solutions in support of business unit requirements and lead support for them
  • Participate in discussions regarding changes in the field incentive programs and provide consistent compensation and job evaluation support 
  • Analyze the market competitiveness of sales and other commission-driven compensation programs and utilize that data to deliver innovative solutions to leaders
  • Provide senior level analytical expertise for compensation programs 
  • Review, develop, communicate and implement appropriate solutions (programs, processes, tools) in support of providing an effective internal and external stakeholder experience in relation to compensation 
  • Handle complex inquiries from all levels of the organization

 

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business, Finance, or related degree required
  • 5+ years of compensation experience
  • Demonstrated strong mathematical aptitude and analysis skills
  • Experience with payroll and HR systems required

  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
  • Results-based self-starter with proven ability to work independently and as a strong team player
  • Broad and in-depth understanding of compensation theory, techniques, and practices
  • Excellent written and verbal communication with strong problem solving, organization, and presentation skills
  • Ability to deal effectively and timely with all employees and external business contacts
  • Strong knowledge of applicable regulations and legislation (e.g. DOL, FLSA, EEO)
  • Able to maintain complete confidentiality and discretion in business relationships and exercise sound business judgment
  • Proven track record of successfully managing multiple priorities in a fast paced, rapidly changing work environment
