Job Description

Our client located in St. Paul is looking for a Compensation Consultant for a 3+ month contract engagement. This Compensation Consultant will be helping to refresh their current compensation structure and help other managers learn how to implement best compensation practices. The focus for this Compensation Consultant will be to assess and revise their current salary bands.


Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Perform job description analysis and classification
  • Use job evaluation process to determine job requirements and prepare market data analysis to determine compensation program assignment
  • Design, develop and implement various compensation plans which are aligned with the organization’s objectives
  • Consults with HR partners and leaders on a variety of compensation related issues to meet various business segment needs
  • Leads compensation projects and initiatives, including merit and incentive administration processes
  • Conduct ad-hoc analysis on job families, new market request and comp package reviews
  • Analyze the market competitiveness of sales and other commission-driven compensation programs and utilize that data to deliver innovative solutions to leaders
  • Conducts and participates in salary surveys including position matching and analysis of results
  • Analyzes data necessary to make recommendations regarding development of company salary structure, FLSA exemptions, job revisions and organizational structures
  • Completes annual review of market competitiveness and updates compensation plans accordingly


Required Skills & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in Human Resources, Finance, Business, or a related field
  • 8+ years compensation experience
  • Experience with salary surveys and job description classification
  • Ability to manage, analyze and manipulate data
  • Excellent Microsoft Excel skills
  • Financial analysis and statistical skills
  • Detail and process oriented with demonstrated excellence in quality and accuracy
  • Excellent communication and relationship management with HRBPs, leadership, employees, and vendors Advanced knowledge and understanding of FLSA guidelines
  • Demonstrated track record in taking initiative, working independently, and handling multiple priorities simultaneously
  • Knowledge of and experience with HR databases and compensation management systems
