The Controls Engineer is an integral part of the team that keeps our client on the cutting edge of NDT technology (Nondestructive Testing). This position supports technical innovations to industrial x-ray products that utilize computed tomography (CT) from prototype to commercialization.

Roles and Responsibilities:
- Develop complex motion designs and PLC programs incorporating motion control systems, robotics, and part handling in accordance with product requirements.
- Provide analysis of automation components including drive systems.
- Develop risk assessment and safety plan for robotic installations.
- Development, support, and maintain PLC and HMI software solutions.
- Develop robotics interfaces.
- Provide robust electrical design for integrating components of x-ray systems.
- Prepare electrical schematics and bill of materials for the fabrication and assembly of equipment.
- Prepare facility electrical requirements for customer installations.
- Interface with manufacturing and service to support product assembly, testing, and troubleshooting.
- Interface with project management to ensure projects meet schedule and delivery requirements.
- Work on multiple concurrent projects and prioritize to meet internal and external deadlines.
- Provide design and technical support throughout product lifecycle.
- Develop working knowledge of X-ray and NDT techniques through NSI technical experts.
- Prepare and participate in internal design reviews with a cross functional team.
- Collaborate with a cross functional team of software, controls, and NDT engineers to develop innovative solutions.
Required Skills & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering
- 3-7+ years experience
- Knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems, their design, and supporting analysis.
- Experience with industrial robots and Beckhoff programmable logic controllers is desired.
- Broad knowledge of documentation and quality systems, including engineering change and ISO 9001.
- Knowledge of automation components including PLC hardware, multi axis servo motor control, and robotic fixturing and gripping.
- Experience with software programming languages; IEC 61131-3 programming languages, C++, C#
- Excellent written and verbal English communication.
- AutoCAD Electrical experience a plus
- Passing results on both pre-employment drug and background checks (which includes driving record) are required.
- Must be able to provide proof that you are legally able to work in the United States
