Corporate Controller (ID:43035)
We have partnered with a growing organization in the Construction industry to help them find their next Corporate Controller! This exciting role provides finance and accounting leadership over the entire organization.
This role is open due to retirement and the successful candidate will be a business partner to the CEO and advise on the growth of the company.

Roles and Responsibilities:
  • Serve as a strategic partner to the Board of Directors and other Principals, offering financial insights and perspectives.

  • Manage financial aspects of strategic initiatives and provide advice on business options.

  • Stay updated on industry and economic trends and make recommendations accordingly.

  • Lead enterprise risk management efforts.

  • Evaluate and execute M&A opportunities identified by the Board, providing leadership and support for integration.

  • Manage relationships with external advisory services such as auditors, bankers, and tax advisors.

  • Make recommendations on financial systems to enhance efficiency and profitability.

  • Develop short and long-term financial strategies to support business growth.

  • Oversee the firm's annual budgeting processes.

  • Monitor key financial metrics, report results, and identify trends.

  • Present financial analyses, reports, and results to Senior Leadership and the Board.

  • Lead monthly and quarterly forecasting processes.

  • Drive organizational capacity for informed business decisions and strategic planning.

  • Identify opportunities for operational improvements and implement best practices.

  • Provide oversight to the Firm's general accounting functions, including project accounting, payroll, and accounts payable.

  • Establish and maintain a strong system of internal controls.

  • Ensure compliance with accounting policies and regulations.

  • Lead the annual external audit planning and coordination.

  • Ensure sufficient capital and liquidity to meet current and future needs.

  • Manage short-term funds and secure favorable financing arrangements.

  • Partner effectively with the banking community.

  • Oversee cash flow and set corporate policies.

  • Provide leadership in tax planning and preparation.

  • Ensure prudent and effective investment of firm assets.

  • Recruit, develop, and retain a high-performing team.

  • Set expectations and manage performance, providing coaching and feedback.

  • Optimize department structure and responsibilities.

  • Utilize external resources as needed.

  • Promote teamwork and collaboration across the organization.


Required Skills and Experience:

  • 10 to 15 years of accounting and finance experience.
  • Experience in the construction industry.
  • Experience with budgeting, forecasting, expense control and accounting systems.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
  • Bachelors degree in Accounting.
  • CPA preferred.
