Major privately owned based real estate investment management firm (SEC registered investment advisor and Qualified Professional Asset Manager) with a strong Twin Cities/Midwest presence is seeking a highly skilled business developer desiring to play an essential role in the growth of the company. This is a hands-on, full-time, upper Midwest position with diverse responsibilities. Individual must be able to make decisions based on the best available information and support those decisions to senior management.

Roles & Responsibilities:
  • Comfortable presenting periodic reports to our client pension boards and answering their direct questions as well as communicating with developers and other participating lenders.
  • Establish, build, and maintain relationships with relevant parties: investors, developers, other participating lenders, etc.
  • Effectively coordinate and manage multiple assignments; prioritize responsibilities and efforts.
  • Negotiate with clients, developers, general contractors, architects, owners, investors, and other stakeholders.
  • Identify and manage developers and projects that meet the company’s investment requirements.
  • Assist with construction loan and investment underwriting.
  • Assist with production of periodic internal and client reports and new client proposals.
  • Ability to travel regionally up to 10% (under normal circumstances)

Required Skills & Experience:
  • Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business, marketing, construction related discipline, or real estate.
  • Four years consulting, construction, CRE lending and/or commercial real estate asset management experience.
  • Experience with multi-employer and other ERISA-covered funds a big plus.
  • Knowledge of industry trends in real estate and development, and a strong desire to understand specific market characteristics.
  • Strong analytical and computer skills, Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, Power Point, Publisher, and Outlook.
  • Ability to provide analytical basis for decision making and produce supporting documentation.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
