This is an exciting opportunity to join the quality management team for a Top-4 company in a niche manufacturing industry in the Albany/Tangent/Corvallis, OR area. In this role, you will investigate, identify, and implement image- and data-driven improvements throughout all stages, with the end goal of improving product quality and process efficiency.  Perform statistical analysis, model building, maintain and create machine learning (ML) systems, innovate new data-driven solutions.
 
Role and Responsibilities:
  • Image analysis expertise, deep learning/convolutional neural networks
  • Monitor and report on quality-related processing problems and propose solutions
  • Define and run experiments to improve quality, process flows, SOPs, efficiency, throughput
  • Assess the effectiveness and accuracy of new data sources and data-gathering techniques
  • Identify valuable data sources and automate collection processes
  • Processing, cleansing, and verifying the integrity of data used for analysis of structured and unstructured data
  • Ad-hoc analysis and presentation of results using data visualization
  • Analyze large amounts of information to discover trends and patterns
  • Build predictive models and machine-learning algorithms
  • Work with stakeholders throughout the organization to identify opportunities for leveraging company data to drive business solutions
  • Develop processes and tools to monitor and analyze model performance and data accuracy
 
Required Skills and Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree in quantitative field, Master’s degree preferred
  • Familiarity with computer vision systems (Keras,Tensorflow, Pytorch, etc.)
  • Experience programming with statistical computer languages (R and Python REQUIRED) to manipulate data and draw insights from large data sets
  • Experience using annotation software and building models using annotated images
  • Knowledge of a machine learning techniques (clustering, decision tree learning, artificial neural networks, etc.) and real-world advantages/drawbacks to various techniques
  • Knowledge of advanced statistical techniques and concepts (regression, properties of distributions, statistical tests, and proper usage, etc.) and experience with applications
  • Experience visualizing/presenting data for stakeholders using: ggplot, matplotlib etc.
  • Strong math skills (e.g. statistics, algebra)
