Director of Engineering and Controls
Our client is looking to hire their next Director of Engineering based out of Winona, Minnesota. Our client is seeking a Director of Engineering to fill a critical leadership role for our Controls and Smart Systems and Services development team at our Winona Minnesota. In this role you will develop and provide the leadership required to produce innovative products and services related to standard and custom Temperature and Power Controls and Thermal System solutions including Industry 4.0 Services for the Semiconductor, Environmental and Energy, and Standard Thermal Solution markets. You will shape our global thermal solutions vision and enable our aggressive global growth strategy.

In this role you will provide the leadership for a highly motivated and experienced global technical organization. You will manage the activities to expand the skills and capabilities of technical team members required to produce innovative products, systems, and services to meet both customer and business needs. You will interface with senior management and global functional leaders to develop strategies to achieve complex goals.


Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Support the enterprise vision and transformation of the technical organization to better support the customer and the business
  • Ensure objectives for advancement of technical capability are clearly defined and integrated with the business priorities
  • Closely work with other functional groups such as Operations, Product management, and Sales to support the business growth initiatives
  • Actively work on expanding global footprint of the engineering organization for better customer support
  • Promote and engage in collaboration with customer engineering teams and with suppliers in new markets
  • Provide the organization with technical and financial information and on projects and assist the organization in making the appropriate prioritization and portfolio decisions
  • Build and foster a constructive and cohesive team environment

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Advanced Engineering degree (MS/PhD) or Bachelor’s Engineering degree and 10 or more years of related experience
  • Experience leading and managing and cross-functional teams
  • Project Management Experience
  • Experience in one or more engineering disciplines

Desired Qualifications

  • Demonstrated ability to create/foster a leadership environment that is conducive to teamwork and supports a fast-paced, highly visual, and collaborative work environment
  • Experience working with a globally distributed workforce
  • Experience in one or more engineering disciplines
  • Understanding of smart thermal system solutions including advanced control algorithms, power switching, and data analytics technologies
