Job Description

Reporting directly to the CEO, the Director of Finance will serve as a member of the Executive Leadership Team and is a newly created position to provide a finance partner to Leadership. Primary responsibilities include; developing and overseeing the finance/accounting function, to support strategic planning and business development, financial management and reporting to stakeholders, implementing non-confining systems and procedures to allow for growth, treasury and cash flow management, risk management, and to provide decision-making information required to maximize value creation.

The person is this role must be a highly capable leader who embraces change, intellectually curious, efficient, capable of working independently, innovative in mind-set, have a track record of success and deep experience in Finance.


Roles & Responsibilities:

  1. Complete oversight of Company’s financial performance; actively generates and monitors all financial results, provides insights and guidance to leadership team, budgeting and forecasting, as well as developing the finance tools and reporting necessary to ensure the availability of information for decision making to maximize value creation.

  2. Develop and integrate inter-departmental relationships by providing finance reporting support to sales, developers, design, and production in the form of counsel, analysis, and profitability improvement opportunities through actual/budgeted variance analysis and recommending subsequent corrective measures.

  3. Responsible for treasury related functions to ensure the Company's financial needs are met. Specific responsibilities include; cash flow management, debt management strategy, maintaining effective banking relationships, managing the line-of-credit, and managing marketable securities and investments to maximize returns and minimize idle cash.

  4. Play a key role working collaboratively with the leadership team in forecasting, budgeting, planning, reviewing, and presenting the business and strategic plans.

  5. Evaluate and assess for feasibility, appropriate capital expenditures, review ROI justifications for significant projects, and allocate resources to support capital projects and spending plans.

  6. Owns the development and maintenance of effective external relationships with 3rd party service providers, including; banks, outside auditors, insurance and benefits service providers, and finance consultants.

  7. Directly supports the Leadership Team in relationships with shareholders and investors.

  8. As a member of the Executive Leadership Team, provide strategic value by exploring and presenting options to business situations/challenges.

  9. Develop IT and operational systems strategy which supports business being conducted smarter, faster, and more efficiently; manage internal and external resources required to implement strategy.


Required Skills & Experience:

  1. A relevant undergraduate degree in Finance, Accounting, or Economics.
  2. Advanced degree and/or certification with an MBA or CPA preferred.
  3. Proficient spreadsheet skills and experience with building ROI financial modeling and presentations.
  4. Work history to include a minimum of 5 years of progressively more responsible and relevant finance experience.
  5. Work history includes working in a customer and quality centric environment where all employees are exceptionally passionate about getting behind the mission of the organization.
  6. Experience in driving the budgeting and planning process, while providing the appropriate information to decision makers for execution of the plan.
  7. Treasury experience to include effective management of cash and banking relationships.
