Engineering Manager, New Product Development

Manage the development of assigned projects/products and related processes to achieve accuracy and functionality.

  • Lead the new product development process and appropriate cross functional teams
    • Responsible for setting and maintaining project schedule
    • Direct management of design/development
    • Lead entire cross functional team
    • Determine integration plan for concurrent work activity and projects
    • Responsible for the roll-out of new products from concept, development, pre-production, to implementation
    • Form relationship with R&D Innovations Team to allow flow of new ideas to become integrated into product offerings.
  • Manage the development of assigned products to meet our customers’ expectations on a timely basis
  • Manage staff to ensure tasks are completed and are consistent with the Product Development process
  • Provide support to other areas of the business in regards to product development’s capabilities and insights
  • Participate in meetings and continuing education
  • Management Responsibilities
    • Provide leadership and employee development
    • Manage performance through coaching and necessary corrective action
    • Ultimate responsibility for the work performed by direct report(s)
  • Support ISO and other quality systems and procedures relevant to department

 

Qualifications

  • BSME or equivalent bachelor’s degree from four-year college or university
  • 5-10 years of design engineering experience
  • Product development management and project management experience
  • Experience working in 3D CAD tools
  • Ability to work and thrive in a team setting
  • Highly self-motivation, self-management, ability to take responsibility in meeting deadlines, and making progress without direct supervision
  • Must have a can-do attitude and strong work ethic
  • Ability to take direction and feedback to conceptualize/execute projects
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret and extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
  • This position requires an individual that is committed to performing very high quality work, someone who is highly organized and motivated to continually stay up-to-date with the changing industry standards in order to comply with corporate goals to strive to be 100% successful. This position also requires an individual who is skilled prioritizing and delegating tasks, along with strong communication and people skills; to continually be focusing on staff development.
