Job Description

  • The Facilities Architect Programmer & Planner (APP) is responsible for the programming, planning and conceptual design of all capital projects, system facility standards, that third party architectural firms comply with all organizational facility standards and procedures and are effectively managed from concept through planning and design. The APP oversees and leads the integration of sustainable design, a respect for the environment, and conservation of resources into every project that the organization undertakes. The APP participates as required with the selection and hiring of consultants engaged by the organization for capital projects and physical improvements. This position helps manage the efficient use of space on campus by all departments and entities. The APP develops long-range and detailed plans to meet the needs of the organization. This is an enterprise wide position serving all markets. Some limited travel will be required.

    Work Experience:
    Minimum of ten years of progressively responsible experience as a registered healthcare architect is required. This experience must include discerning program needs from user input to develop programming and planning documents, guiding and managing the design process and experience with multi-million dollar construction projects involving a diversity of construction systems.

 

Additional Information

Bachelor's degree in Architecture is desired.

 

Architectural registration is preferred; Minnesota registration is desired. Accreditation through the American College of Healthcare Architects (ACHA) and the United States Green Building Council in Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) or a related professionally recognized organization is preferred.
