HR Generalist
Seeking an experienced Sr. HR Generalist for a small company of 50 employees who can work independently and successfully collaborate with the VP of HR. This position will offers a great deal of variety including involvement with Payroll, Benefit Administration, Recruitment, Onboarding, Performance Management and more.

The Sr. HR Generalist performs a wide range of HR tasks to ensure the department runs smoothly and efficiently. Successful candidate will be responsible for delivering exceptional service and maximum value to all employees.  Responsibilities include processing payroll, benefits & leave administration, HR compliance, employee recruitment and relations.   



Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Administers all tasks and reporting that’s required for bi-weekly, multi-state payroll through a third party payroll vendor. Maintains and updates Employee Portal on payroll site.
  • Administers the Company’s 401(k) retirement and profit sharing plan.
  • Administers the Company’s health and welfare benefits plans.  Performs benefit administration to include employee communication, annual/open enrollment meetings, reconciling and approving invoices for payment, enrolling, reinstating and terminating employees from appropriate benefit plans, as required. 
  • Administers, with a third party vendor, COBRA, third party sick pay and MN Life continuation.  Ensures plan documents are up to date and maintained for current plan year.
  • Coordinates all employee leave of absences in conjunction with established policies and regulatory compliance. 
  • Responds to all unemployment claims, including filings/appeals.
  • Responsible for all recruitment activities.  Measures and manages recruitment efforts.  Responsible for onboarding activities.
  • Provides consultation, support and prompt follow-up to management and employees on company policies, performance management and problem resolution.   
  • Complies with all required SOC2 actions. 



Required Skills and Experience:

  • 4-year Bachelor’s Degree, with emphasis on human resources strongly preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ HR Experience
  • PHR or SPHR Certification desired
  • Demonstrates knowledge of Employment law, as it applies to wage and hour and benefit administration.
  • Demonstrates excellent written and verbal communication skills.  Must demonstrate ability to train, listen and coach.  Skilled at providing feedback. 
  • Demonstrates ability to interface comfortably and confidently with business people at all levels of the organization. 
  • Takes ownership of position and proactively looks to continually improve processes and procedures.  Works closely with the VP of HR to achieve overall success. 
  • Demonstrates strong PC skills; high proficiency in Word and Excel skills required. Demonstrated knowledge of ADP software.
