Job Description

Our manufacturing client is looking for a Human Resources Manager for a 3+ month contract engagement in the northeast metro area. This role is a contract assignment and part-time This HR Manager should be skilled with employee relations and have experience using UltiPro for talent acquisition and performance management. Ideally, this candidate should have HR Manager experience in a manufacturing or similar industry.


Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Manages the general operations of Human Resources in a customer-focused and professional manner
  • Maintains knowledge of benefit programs offered and policies and procedures related to the administration of open enrollment
  • Provides leadership in the administration of compensation programs
  •  Develops and maintains relationships with community and educational and other recruitment sources
  • Completes and maintains employee filing and file maintenance, wage verifications, and employment references
  •  Generates reports and responds to special requests (human resources related reports, human resources information, etc.)
  • Maintains all human resources information and retains records according to federal and state requirements.  Ensures facility compliance with federal and state requirements and regulations including unemployment insurance, ADA, EEO, AA, etc. (HR files and retains records, overtime, reporting requirements)
  • Directly assists in contract negotiations and interpretations and assists in the administration of grievances procedures
  • Manages Workplace Injury, OHSA records, and Worker’s Compensation Claims for site
  • Provide Leadership Development opportunities for management team
  • Identifies, conducts and manages special Human Resources projects


Required Skills & Experience:

  • Strong working knowledge of multiple human resource disciplines, including talent acquisition, compensation practices, performance management, employee relations, compliance with federal and state employment laws
  • PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP designation
  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment
  • Highest degree of professionalism, integrity and confidentiality; demonstrated discretion in the handling of highly sensitive material and information
  • Experience managing 401K administration and compliance
  • Experience with LOA administration
  • Knowledge of an HRIS system, UltiPro experience preferred
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Ability to reason and apply policies/procedures consistently
  • Must be detail and accuracy oriented
  • Excellent coaching skills
  • Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills with the ability to build, partner and maintain relationships internally and with management/leadership
  • Highly skilled in conflict resolution practices
