This exciting role will lead and manage the routine functions of the Human Resources department, including hiring and interviewing staff, administering pay, benefits, and leave, and enforcing company policies and practices.
This HR Manager role will run and enhance the current HR practice. As a team of one, the role manages everything from day-to-day HR, Benefits & Compensation, Training & Development as well as strategic planning to build out a Performance Management process. Roles & Responsibilities:
  • Partner with the leadership team to understand and execute the organization’s human resource and talent strategy, particularly as it relates to current and future talent needs, recruiting, retention, and succession planning.
  • Provide support and guidance to HR/payroll staff, management, and other staff when complex, specialized, and sensitive questions and issues arise; may be required to administer and execute routine tasks in delicate circumstances, such as providing reasonable accommodations, investigating allegations of wrongdoing, and terminations.
  • Manage the talent acquisition process, which may include recruitment, interviewing, hiring, and onboarding job applicants; collaborate with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings.
  • Analyze trends in compensation and benefits; research and propose competitive base and incentive pay. Manage compensation and benefits packages to stay competitive with the market. Collaborate with CoP and local/national HR networks to develop new strategies for engagement and retention.
  • Manage training and education processes. Assist supervisors in identifying staff training gaps and provide learning and development initiatives, training, and opportunities for employees.
  • Manage employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
  • Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations and recommend best practices; review policies and practices to maintain compliance; and develop protocol and policies with the compliance and legal teams. 
  • Maintain knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, employment law, and business industry related matters.
  • Responsible for personal/confidential external records, payroll records, and employee records. Ensure filing is complete following compliance and is in accordance with internal records practices. Collaborate with the Records Manager. 
  • Oversee payroll process and collaborate with leadership for HR/payroll/benefits annual budget.
  • Serve as an internal and external point of contact for payroll, benefits, and compensation issues; resolve or escalate discrepancies and questions when needed.
  • Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual reports, including internal and external compliance, such as year-end retirement reporting and coding.
  • Schedule and attend to staff needs and develop employee relations. 
  • Manage the HR team’s KPIs and delegate and monitor HR team priorities. Ensure these are completed in a diligent and timely manner.
  • Collaborate with the Health & Safety team for staff and office matters and manage workers’ compensation processes.
  • Develop strategy and execute performance evaluations with Managing Directors and People Managers. 
  • Act as Liaison between recruiters, consultants, compensation, HRIS providers, and Management.
  • Employee relations including interviewing, hiring, training, terminations, and investigations.
  • May supervise Payroll and other Office Admin staff performance.
  • Provide performance evaluations

Required Skills and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, business administration, or related field required.
  • Three years of human resource management experience preferred.
  • SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP highly desired.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict-resolution skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Able to prioritize tasks and delegate them when appropriate.
  • Able to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
  • Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Able to quickly learn the organization’s HRIS and talent management systems.
