The Human Resources Specialist will perform generalist administrative tasks and services to support effective and efficient operations of the organization’s human resource function.

Roles and Responsibilities:
- Meet or exceed organizational goals for payroll accuracy and completion
- Manages benefit administration and recruiting activities
- Maintains all personnel records for Arrow Cryogenics
- Leads the Human Resources department in the absence of the HR Manager
- Implements, maintains, and reviews payroll processing systems to ensure timely and accurate processing of payroll transactions including salaries, benefits, garnishments, taxes, and other deductions
- Ensures accurate and timely processing of payroll updates including new hires, terminations, and changes to pay rates
- Sets up and tracks garnishments and levies while maintaining proper documentation
- Generates and verifies payroll reports out of payroll system to ensure accuracy of payroll before finalizing
- Prepares and maintains accurate records and reports of payroll transactions
- Verifies and reconciles W2’s prior to issuance
- Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws and best practices
- Completes all employment verifications in a timely manner
- Reviews and ensures accuracy of all timecards on a weekly basis
- Trains employees and managers on use of the time keeping system
- Maintains accurate and up-to-date human resource files, records, and documentation
- Answers frequently asked questions from employees and applicants relative to standard policies, benefits, hiring processes, etc.
- Maintains the integrity and confidentiality of human resource files and records
- Performs periodic audits of Human Resources files and records to ensure that all required documents are collected and filed appropriately
- Provides generalist support to the Human Resources department including but not limited to approving and reconciling invoices, data entry, electronic filing and research
- Acts as a liaison between the organization and external benefits providers and vendors, which may include medical, dental, vision, disability, and ancillary plan carriers
- Performs all recruiting for organization by partnering with leaders on filling open positions and works with contract agencies to ensure needs are met
- Conducts or assists with new hire orientation and onboarding
- Assists with planning and execution of special events such as benefits enrollment, organization-wide meetings, employee recognition events, holiday parties, and retirement celebrations
- Performs other generalist and specialist duties as assigned
Required Skills and Experience:
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Associate’s Degree in Business Administration or Human Resources or Bachelor’s Degree Preferred
- Must be a Citizen of the United States of America or have a current Green Card Must be dependable and punctual
- Must have previous Human Resources experience in a similar role such as generalist, specialist, assistant or administrative
- Must be able to work a minimum of 40 hours per week and overtime as needed
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, strong Excel skills preferred
- Proficient with or the ability to quickly learn human resources generalist tasks for payroll management, human resource information system (HRIS), and similar computer applications
- Ability to balance workload effectively and stay organized
- Ability to generate high-quality generalist deliverables and meet relevant deadlines while working autonomously and managing multiple priorities
- Must have the ability to maintain focus while stationed primarily at computer workstation and must have ability to use hands and wrists for typing and for the use a mouse device.
