Job Description

Our manufacturing client is looking for a Human Resources Manager to join their team for a 3+ month contract engagement. This HR Manager should be comfortable managing the day-to-day HR function in a dynamic manufacturing setting. Our client is looking for an HR Manager who is truly comfortable doing everything in HR from recruitment, benefits enrollment, training, employee relations, compensation and more. Ideally, this candidate has experience managing HR in a manufacturing or similar environment.

 

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Manages the general operations of Human Resources in a customer-focused and professional manner
  • Maintains knowledge of benefit programs offered and policies and procedures related to the administration of them for prospective employees
  • Provides leadership in the administration of compensation programs
  • Completes and maintains employee filing and file maintenance, wage verification, and employment references
  • Generates reports and responds to special requests (human resources related reports, human resources information, etc.)
  • Maintains all human resources information and retains records according to federal and state requirements
  • Ensures facility compliance with federal and state requirements and regulations including unemployment insurance, ADA, EEO, AA, etc. (HR files and retains records, overtime, reporting requirements)
  • Directly assists in contract negotiations and interpretations and assists in the administration of grievances procedures
  • Manages Workplace Injury, OHSA records, and Worker’s Compensation Claims for site
  • Provide Leadership Development opportunities for management team
  • Identifies, conducts, and manages special Human Resources projects

 

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or relevant field
  • 5+ years progressive HR experience
  • Experience managing HR within a manufacturing environment, preferred
  • Ability to work in an ambiguous environment and be flexible with change and shifting priorities
  • Strong working knowledge of multiple human resource disciplines, including talent acquisition, compensation practices, performance management, employee relations, compliance with federal and state employment laws
  • Highest degree of professionalism, integrity and confidentiality; demonstrated discretion in the handling of highly sensitive material and information
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Ability to reason and apply policies/procedures consistently
  • Excellent coaching skills
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills with the ability to build, partner and maintain relationships internally and with management/leadership
  • Highly skilled in conflict resolution practices
