Job Description

 

Reporting to the Human Resources Manager, the HR Generalist collaborates with members of the human resources team to provide support to leadership and employees on human resources matters including recruiting, employee relations, benefits and communications.

  • Conduct investigations as appropriate; provide guidance and make recommendations to supervisors in employee relations issues
  • Field inquiries from employees regarding policies and procedures
  • Implement and communicate policies and programs
  • Partner with leadership across the organization to support and foster a positive company culture
  • Partner with the HR Director to develop forms, programs, systems and training with respect to improve performance management
  • Provide recruiting support for corporate positions
  • Recommend new approaches, policies, and procedures to impact productivity and service improvements
  • Expand knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and environmental changes that impact HR
  • Manage and coordinate all aspects of leaves of absence programs and requests
  • Monitor and respond to communications for unemployment insurance
  • Maintain HRIS records and compile reports from the database
  • Maintain all personnel files in compliance with applicable legal requirements

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource or related field
  • 3-5 years of relevant experience human resources

Additional Qualifications:

  • Working knowledge of employment laws and regulations
  • Experience managing employee data within an HRIS
  • Ability to build strong relationships with employees at all levels
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with a high level of attention to detail
  • Proactive communication style with excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to exercise good/strong judgment in sensitive situations
  • Strong employee relations experience, including experience with internal investigations, formal charges/litigation
  • Ability to use critical thinking and analytical skills
  • Professional attitude, approachable, and comfortable working with ambiguity
  • Proficiency in Excel, Word, and Power Point
