Interim ERP Director

The Interim ERP Director will lead the delivery and ongoing advancement of the organization’s enterprise resource planning ecosystem. This role oversees the optimization, and support of ERP platforms and related applications, ensuring they effectively enable operational excellence and business growth. The position also manages dedicated analyst and support teams while partnering closely with leadership across the organization to align technology solutions with strategic objectives.

Hourly Rate: $85-$100/DOE

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Define and execute a comprehensive ERP Services strategy and roadmap in partnership with internal stakeholders and external vendors.
  • Serve as the senior business and technology leader responsible for ERP governance, performance, and continuous improvement.
  • Build, mentor, and lead teams of ERP Business Analysts and Support Specialists, fostering a collaborative and solution oriented culture.
  • Maintain a prioritized pipeline of enhancement requests, system improvements, and business driven initiatives.
  • Drive the design and deployment of improved processes that reduce manual effort, strengthen data integrity, and enhance end user experience.
  • Review and document existing operational processes; propose optimized workflows and system solutions based on best practices.
  • Guide the Business Analyst team in developing and standardizing tools, methodologies, templates, and documentation practices.
  • Oversee resource planning, staffing needs, and project allocation to support current and future business initiatives.
  • Lead ERP support operations, functional analysis activities, and continuous improvement programs across the technology organization.
  • Manage functional and business requirements documentation, including change tracking and specifications for new or modified systems.
  • Partner with technical teams to design and deploy ERP related configurations, enhancements, integrations, and customizations.
  • Develop and execute testing strategies for system updates, new features, and process changes.
  • Address post implementation issues and coordinate follow up enhancements or corrections.
  • Maintain strong vendor relationships; ensure partner services align with budget, timelines, and organizational priorities.
  • Keep current with industry trends, emerging ERP technologies, and best practices, recommending innovations that strengthen the ERP landscape.
  • Perform additional duties as needed to support organizational goals and operational efficiency.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent professional experience.
  • 5+ years of hands on experience implementing, managing, or supporting ERP systems.
  • 3+ years of leadership experience overseeing ERP functional or technical teams.
  • Strong expertise with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations or comparable ERP platforms.
  • Demonstrated success developing scalable service and support models that drive business value.
  • Experience building dashboards, KPIs, and reporting tools to measure ERP service performance.
  • Proven ability to collaborate across diverse teams and influence outcomes without direct authority.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to translate complex concepts for technical and non technical audiences.
  • Background in strategic planning, enterprise application design, and solution delivery.
  • Experience managing vendors, consultants, and cross functional partners in a hybrid or matrixed environment.
  • Ability to balance strategic vision with hands on execution in a fast paced, evolving environment.
  • Capacity to lead teams through ambiguity, shifting priorities, and complex business challenges.
  • Enthusiasm for emerging technologies and continuous experimentation to surface new opportunities for improvement.
