Are you looking for a short commitment but wanting to make a long-lasting impact? Our client is seeking an Interim Head of People and Culture to oversee all their HR functions. The Interim Head of People will manage a team of HR staff as well as provide direction for the management of HR policies, procedures, services, and systems, including compensation and benefits, employee relations, HRIS, performance management, recruitment, and staff development. The position requires an HR leader with a broad understanding of human resources management who can oversee the team’s leadership role and provide exceptional results in a short period of time.

Roles & Responsibilities:
- Direct, coach, and support a high-performing HR team including HR Generalist, Payroll/HRIS Administrator as well as temporary staff
- Plan and manage team budgets
- In partnership with leadership team, define, develop, communicate, and execute HR plans that integrate DEI initiatives into HR workflows, policies, and procedures, as well as support short and long-term business priorities and emerging business needs
- Provide leadership and direction in talent and performance management, workforce and succession planning, learning and career development, policy and procedure updates, employee and labor relations, retention and recognition, and HR operations and analytics
- Monitor HR best practices trends and recommend changes that support business needs
- Proactively assess organizational needs and identify strategies, job design, and educational opportunities that increase organizational effectiveness
- Develop and implement innovative change leadership, project management, and communication strategies to meet business needs
- Function as a strategic HR advisor to the Leadership team and managers on key organizational and management issues
- Develop ongoing talent management processes and career development opportunities that build knowledge, skills, and abilities
- Assess business needs and current capabilities, and design, develop, and implement a learning and career development plan
- Lead and perform various employee engagement surveys to understand individual and team engagement levels and priorities
- Assess, identify, develop, and implement HR team improvements to better support business needs
- Design and lead workforce planning to inform headcount planning, resource allocations, total rewards package, and evaluation of organizational health
- Consult with additional HR leadership and legal counsel to ensure policies meet all current legal requirements
- Direct the administration of the Affirmative Action and Equal Employment Opportunity plans, communicate goals and requirements to management
Required Skills & Experience:
- 10+ years combined experience in organizational effectiveness, organizational development, talent management, HR strategy and/or human resource development
- Successful experience developing and implementing HR strategies that are aligned with the organization’s strategic priorities and mission
- Excellent critical thinking skills with ability to resolve conflicts efficiently
- Change and project management experiences with strong organizational skills
- Solid understanding of HR legal requirements and employment laws
- Must be an authentic and inclusive leader with effective ability to build and maintain relationships at all levels
- Experience building a strong, highly skilled, and engaged workforce
- Experience utilizing HR data to develop HR key performance indicators
- Must be flexible to changing priorities and have the ability to quickly pivot, analyze needs, and deliver audience appropriate solutions
- Excellent written, interpersonal, and mass communication skills with the ability to create and tailor clear communication to various audiences
- Strong executive presence, facilitation skills, attention to detail, drive for results, and a “can do” attitude
- Solid knowledge of HR operational areas, i.e., Talent Acquisition, HRIS, Payroll, Compensation, etc.
- Strong background in Learning and Development, Organizational Development, or Psychology, preferred
- Project Management and/or Change Management certifications preferred
- SHRM-CP/SCP and/or PHR/SPHR Certifications preferred
