Our client is seeking an experienced Interim HR Consultant to join their team and play a key role in enhancing their HR functions and supporting strategic business decisions. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience with a robust HR background, expertise in talent acquisition and onboarding, and knowledge of FLSA regulations, handbook creation, and HR organizational design.

Worksite Location: Maple Grove, MN– Fully Onsite Opportunity; Seeking Minnesota / Twin Cities based candidate only.

Roles & Responsibilities:
  • Develop and optimize the talent acquisition process to attract and retain top talent.
  • Oversee the onboarding process, ensuring new hires are integrated smoothly and effectively.
  • Collaborate with hiring managers to understand recruitment needs and provide strategic guidance.
  • Ensure compliance with Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) regulations and other relevant labor laws.
  • Develop, update, and maintain employee handbooks, ensuring they are comprehensive and up to date with current policies and regulations.
  • Guide policy implementation and adherence across the organization.
  • Assist in designing and restructuring the HR organization to enhance efficiency and support business objectives.
  • Prepare executive summaries and reports to communicate HR initiatives, project progress, and organizational changes to senior leadership.
  • Provide strategic HR insights and recommendations to drive organizational improvement.
  • Utilize strong project management skills to oversee HR projects from inception to completion.
  • Address various HR issues, including employee relations, performance management, and compliance.
  • Experience with union environments is helpful in guiding labor relations and union negotiations.

Required Skills & Experience:
  • Extensive HR experience with a focus on talent acquisition, onboarding, FLSA compliance, and employee handbooks.
  • Proven project management skills and ability to prepare executive summaries and strategic reports.
  • Strong understanding of HR organizational design and restructuring.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience in union environments is a plus.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
