Our client is seeking an experienced Interim Process Documentation Consultant to join our team. This role involves creating detailed Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Playbooks that will serve as essential guides for our client's operations. If you have a knack for technical writing, an analytical mindset, and a collaborative spirit, we want to hear from you.

Worksite Location: Eagan, MN–Hybrid Opportunity; Seeking Minnesota / Twin Cities based candidate only.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Understand the organization's processes, products, and services by interviewing subject matter experts, observing operations, and reviewing existing documentation.

  • Gather comprehensive information to ensure accurate and complete documentation.

  • Write clear and concise SOPs and Playbooks that accurately represent critical processes and procedures.

  • Define each SOP's purpose, scope, and procedure, and outline strategies, tactics, and metrics for each Playbook.

  • Structure SOPs and Playbooks in a logical and user-friendly manner.

  • Create tables of contents, indexes, and glossaries to enhance usability.

  • Develop diagrams, flowcharts, and other visual aids to illustrate complex processes and procedures.

  • Ensure visual aids effectively complement written documentation.

  • Support the Training Team in developing training content based on the SOPs and Playbooks.

  • Assist with the integration of documentation into training materials.

  • Work closely with project management, sales, customer service, and marketing teams to ensure SOPs and Playbooks meet their needs.

  • Conduct virtual meetings (1-on-1 or small groups) to gather information and feedback.


Required Skills & Experience:

  • Proven experience in process documentation, technical writing, or similar roles.

  • Strong analytical and organizational skills.

  • Proficiency in creating visual aids such as diagrams and flowcharts.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Experience with HRIS or other relevant systems is a plus.
