Our exciting client is looking for an HR Generalist to help run daily HR functions for a 4+ month engagement covering parental leave. The ideal candidate will be an adaptable self-starter who gets excited to utilize best-practice HR strategies to help our client continue thriving and growing their business through proactive HR strategies. This HR Generalist should have a genuine passion for the Human Resources function and empowering employees by supporting the entire organization. 

 

Worksite Location: Golden Valley, MN – 3 days a week onsite; ONLY Minnesota/Twin Cities based candidates will be considered.

 

Roles & Responsibilities: 

  • Develop, administer, implement, and monitor a variety of human resources functions throughout the organization. 
  • Broad knowledge of all Human Resources functions, including but not limited to benefits, payroll, recruiting, employee relations, coaching, and more. 
  • Establish strong working relationships with department managers. 
  • Recruit, screen, and interview job applicants, including identifying recruiting needs, sourcing qualified candidates, and selecting applicants in tandem with the management team. 
  • Onboard new hires, including new hire and benefits orientation. 
  • Serve as a link between management and employees by handling questions, interpreting and administering policies, and providing guidance. 
  • Assists in maintaining the Human Resources Information System. 
  • Provide strong business change management and communication support, using organization development skills and frameworks. 
  • Partner with the Human Resources team to ensure consistent application and adherence to company policies.

 

Required Skills & Experience: 

  • Bachelor's degree in human resources or related field. 
  • 5+ years of experience in an HR Generalist function. 
  • Have a coaching approach to working with employees across the organization. 
  • Fundamental knowledge of worker's compensation, FMLA, and other employment-related laws and legal requirements related to the position's duties. 
  • Excellent interpersonal, relationship-building, and collaboration skills; ability to work with diverse groups.
