Learning and Design Manager
Lead Learning and Development at a growing St. Cloud company named as a 2022 Top Workplace by the Minneapolis Star Tribune!

This newly created role is responsible for leading and mentoring learning and development professionals and partnering with subject matter experts to create world class learning experiences and quality curriculum for a variety of users at our client’s growing organization.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Leads and develops a high-performance team of instructional designers.
  • Collaborates and partners with a team of learning experts that translate business needs into impactful learning experiences across a broad range of synchronous, asynchronous, and blended delivery methods.
  • Advises and acts as a trusted performance consultant on effective and leading-edge learning strategies.
  • Practices Learning and Development at scale by thinking nationally and applying sustainable principles & practices.
  • Leads with a learner-centric approach with consumable, relevant training at the time a learner requires it (not too much, too little, too early, or too late).
  • Leverages learning technologies and builds the team needed to develop, manage, deliver, and track training (eLearning, Video, Podcasts, Micro-Learning, Virtual learning, Instructor Led training, etc.).
  • Crafts compelling, highly visible learning experiences using instructional design and design thinking principles (i.e., facilitating needs assessments and skills gap analysis; prototyping, developing, and testing learner-centered eLearning, blended learning experiences, and learning materials in a variety of delivery modalities).
  • Manages process and projects managing between big-picture planning and managing relevant detail, capacity to manage multiple projects, prioritizes and plans resources accordingly, and clearly communicates.
  • Researches, identifies, selects, and manages partnerships with vendors to support our learning strategy execution.
  • Meets our learners where they are and promotes diversity and inclusion by overseeing the translation of learning materials and leading practices on accessibility.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Training & Development, Organizational Development, Human Resources or a related discipline.
  • 5+ years of progressive advanced experience designing, developing, facilitating, and managing learning experiences.
  • Experience leading a team and driving results.
  • Proven history of learning industry credibility with up-to-date knowledge of best practices in HR and instructional design.
  • Effective oral, presentation, and written communication skills.
  • Experience with an LMS, e-learning tools/development platforms, and course authoring/graphics tools.
  • Occasional travel as needed.
