Job Description

Our client is looking for a Learning and Development Consultant for a 6+ month engagement. This L&D Consultant will work with the internal team to help drive the organization’s L&D vision in different manufacturing plants across the country. This L&D Consultant will be translating technical information into accessible learning for employees who work in a manufacturing environment. Our client is seeking someone who is comfortable creating and facilitating content in a dynamic manufacturing environment. This role will require some travel.

 

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Manage the creation and delivery of the company’s overarching training strategy that incorporates all components of learning development, needs assessment, technology use, training methodology, integrated learning, and development and use of training materials and aids
  •  Assess training needs through surveys, interviews with employees and key stakeholders, and consultations with managers
  • Brainstorm, create, and implement initiatives that successfully optimize employee performance leading to overall business strategy accomplishment
  • Integrate employee learning to improve individual, group and organizational effectiveness
  • Use adult learning theory and industry best practices for technology and business process end user integration
  • Partner with business leadership to assess and determine organization readiness for successfully accomplishing the goals set forth in strategic plan, as they pertain to Learning and Development
  • Assess strengths and opportunities with overall organizational capability; involve and empower organization to craft solutions that maximize strengths and mitigate weaknesses
  • Consult and advise leadership on creating and fostering practices that promote an optimal employee learning and retention culture
  • Collaborate with HR partners to develop effective solutions for business needs
  • Provide guidance and make recommendations for ongoing training for the organization

 

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree with emphasis in Human Resource Development, Organizational Development (OD), E-learning, Experiential learning, or Training & Development
  • 5+ years of related HR background, including management, organizational development, and training experience
  • Experience in creation, development and implementation of a corporate-wide training program, in a manufacturing setting preferred
  • Experience in developing people readiness training on multiple platforms with an emphasis on business function integration
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Outstanding listening and integration skills
  • Strong collaboration and service orientation
  • Project management skills
  • Flexibility in working with key stakeholders
