Manufacturing Engineer (ID:42172)
Our client is a privately held manufacturing company based in Minnesota that has been around for 50 years.  They design and engineer extremely high-quality air filtration systems that are used across multiple industries.
The Manufacturing Engineer works as a key member of the engineering team and will be responsible for product design, applications engineering, manufacturing engineering, and providing technical support for assigned product lines.

Roles and Responsibilities:
  • Design innovative, reliable, efficient, and aesthetically appealing designs for high-quality industrial and commercial air filtration equipment and accessories.
  • Create 3D models and drawings for fabricated sheet metal products utilizing SolidWorks. Support legacy AutoDesk Inventor files. 
  • Design innovative, reliable, efficient, and aesthetically appealing designs for high-quality industrial and commercial air filtration equipment and accessories. 
  • Collaborate with sales representatives in designing product solutions, proposals, and submittals for AQE products. Develop, implement, and continuously improve tools and resources used for product selection and training. 
  • Provide pre and post-sales technical support to sales representatives, distributors/resellers, and end customers. Occasionally travel to customer sites for installation, debugging, and training as required. Have detailed knowledge of setup, manufacturing, and testing of components, assemblies, and finished products. 
  • Provide technical leadership and support to ensure consistent and high-quality manufacturing of engineered products. Design, implement, and continuously improve key manufacturing processes. 
  • Create and execute detailed product test & evaluation plans. 
  • Participate in redesign of existing products as part of value engineering initiatives. Support of Continuous Improvement and Lean Manufacturing initiatives. 
  • Develop a working knowledge of the air filtration market segments, applications, and units/parts to be utilized in the development of new products and product enhancements. 
  • Develop a working knowledge of chemical engineering basics to understand destruction and filtration of VOC’s (volatile organic compounds) commonly encountered in manufacturing environments. Utilize product knowledge to provide technical support to production as well as customers. 
  • Work with purchasing to develop component specifications and identify primary and alternate sources for production parts. Assist with evaluation and selection of new suppliers. 
  • Create and maintain detailed project plans for assigned projects. Present project status updates to management. 

Required Skills and Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, Electrical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related.
  • SolidWorks, Inventor, Radan/RadBend, MS Office, Global Shop
  • 3 + years of experience of basic electronics and ability to perform simple wiring is required. Advanced skills with ability to do electrical design and troubleshooting is highly desired.
