We are seeking a skilled Senior Accountant II to join our team in the manufacturing industry. Reporting to the Assistant Controller, the Senior Accountant II will play a crucial role in maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with accounting principles, and supporting the organization's financial operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in manufacturing accounting, be detail-oriented, and possess excellent analytical skills. Roles and Responsibilities:
- Perform various accounting activities in accordance with accounting principles and standards, ensuring accurate financial reporting and compliance with regulations and laws.
- Prepare and review journal entries, reconciliations, and general ledger accounts to provide a comprehensive and precise financial position of the organization.
- Assist in the monthly and annual close processes, ensuring timely and accurate completion.
- Oversee and reconcile inventory-related accounts, ensuring accuracy and integrity of inventory transactions.
- Analyze manufacturing variances and prepare operations analysis reports to support business finance and production managers.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to review and validate standard costs for product lines, including raw materials, work-in-progress (WIP), and finished goods.
- Participate in the annual standard cost roll-up procedures.
- Assist in the preparation of work center variable and fixed rates per hour, incorporating any approved rate changes.
- Handle complex journal entries involving analytical skills, such as bad debt, legal, warranty, and customer rebate reserves.
- Support internal auditors by compiling necessary deliverables and assisting with audit requirements.
- Contribute to the implementation and optimization of the manufacturing ERP system.
- Ensure compliance with SOX controls and internal policies, reinforcing internal control processes.
- Contribute to ad hoc projects as assigned by the accounting department.
Required Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance (preferred), or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience, specifically in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices, with excellent analytical skills.
- Proficiency in using large ERP systems; experience with INFOR/LN or similar systems is a plus.
- CPA eligibility or relevant certifications are preferred.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Outlook, and Adobe.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with individuals at all levels of the organization.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle high volumes of transactions.
- Adherence to timelines and deliverables, with a focus on achieving results.
