Job Description

The Senior Financial Analyst – FP&A is responsible for the financial planning and analysis work within the Company. This person must be highly collaborative and work with cross functional groups in establishing KPIs and financial models. The ideal candidate will provide timely, relevant and accurate financial modeling, analysis, and projections to help the company assess strategy, performance and make decisions.

Responsibilities:

  • Build financial models and reports from scratch, working closely with data analytics and raw data to drive business decisions; then presenting analytics in visualization tool to leadership
  • Support, audit and be prepared to answer specific questions on your analytics, ensuring a deep understanding reasons for variances and unique trends in the data
  • Partner with Business Intelligence and Sales Ops team to ensure numbers are aligned across business segments
  • Finalize monthly analyses of business trends and budget variance of financial results and Key Performance Indicators to be used in management reviews and strategic business analysis sessions
  • Responsible for developing data expertise and working closely with the team to craft and deliver the story to senior leadership
  • Oversee execution of recurring internal financial reporting, ensuring the integrity of all financials reported, and completing all associated analysis and schedules to leadership teams
  • Responsible for communication of internal financial results and estimates to business leaders, prepare and deliver financial updates, create financial models, and analyze variances to key operating metrics
  • Enhance scenario planning analysis and benchmarking capabilities
  • Daily work in aggregating, summarizing, analyzing, and presenting data in a manner that supports decision making
  • Continuous process improvements: Identify, Lead, and Create process and model improvements, not just maintain them
  • Research, establish, track, trend, and report key financial and operational metrics
  • Execute and perform tasks contributing to the completion of the annual budget
  • Scenario planning models that provide results on various “what if” scenarios
  • Benchmarking Company performance vs SaaS industry trends
  • Training and sharing knowledge of modeling and data analytics with team
  • Project management across functions; including financial and operational information
  • Investigate and explain operational and financial variances
  • Proactively spot and communicate trends and risks within financial statements, analyses, and projects
  • Prepare presentations to Board of Directors and Senior Management Team
  • Ad hoc and on-demand analytics to support executive leadership and third parties
  • Cross-training and support for Revenue, Expense, Free Cash Flow and FP&A finance team members

Skills & Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting or a related Business field
  • Minimum of 6 years of progressive experience and the ability to perform complex financial analysis and modeling, assess operating metrics, and create presentations that simplify complex or detailed analytics
  • SaaS industry experience, preferred
  • Big 4 and public accounting experience, strongly preferred
  • Advanced MS Excel skills, required
  • System experience with SalesForce, Adaptive Insights and Domo, highly preferred
  • Proactive mindset and ability to anticipate and solve business needs and understand the drivers for cross functional teams; including the ability to jump in, figure it out and not wait to be told
  • High attention to detail and ability to manage/prioritize multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Strong analytical, quantitative and problem-solving skills; able to clearly link financial results to operational performance drivers, generate alternatives and drive positive change
  • Attention to detail, with high standards of accuracy and review, but must have ability to see the big picture
  • Must have a proactive, positive attitude and be comfortable working in a fast paced, growth-oriented environment
  • Ability to build and maintain positive working relationships with other departments throughout the company
  • Possess a strong initiative to search for and implement process improvements and efficiencies
