Senior Instructional Designer

Our client is looking for a Senior Instructional Designer to join their team for a 5+ month contract assignment. This consultant will work with internal and external subject matter experts to build and create e-learning modules. The position requires the ability to translate technical information into accessible e-learning on “job “how-tos” for field team members. Our client is seeking someone who can be hands on to help create tangible day to day e-learning.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and other internal and external stakeholders to develop training courses and/or curricula that meet instructional goals and objectives
  • Create learning content based around achievable learning objectives that align with overall business needs 
  • Designs and develops learning solutions for a variety of audiences using different modalities that may include, computer-based training, instructor-led, virtual, social, and blended
  • Integrate employee learning to improve individual, group, and organizational effectiveness
  • Use adult learning theory and industry best practices for technology and business process end user integration (focus will be on business training, incorporating process, technology, and other tools)
  • Partner with business leadership to assess and determine organization readiness for successfully accomplishing the goals set forth in strategic plan, as they pertain to Learning and Development
  • Develops training job aids, which may include handbooks, demonstration models, multimedia visual aids, and reference works
  • Evaluates effectiveness of training programs at multiple stages and utilizes relevant evaluation data to revise or recommend changes in instructional objectives, courses, and methods
  • Consult and advise leadership on creating and fostering practices that promote an optimal employee learning and retention culture
  • Collaborate with HR partners to develop effective solutions for business needs
  • Provide guidance and make recommendations for ongoing training for the organization

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Design, Educational Technology, or related field
  • 8-10+ years of Instructional Design experience
  • Strong leadership and Project Management skills preferred
  • Experience in creation, development, and implementation of a corporate-wide training program
  • Experience in developing people readiness training on multiple platforms with an emphasis on business function integration
  • Experience using tools such as Articulate 360/Storyline, Captivate, Camtasia, Adobe Creative Suite, PowerPoint required
  • Experience with learning and implementing new software systems quickly
  • Possess in-depth writing, editing and instructional design skills
  • Thorough understanding of adult learning behaviors and methodologies
  • Familiar with virtual conferencing and meeting applications; ability and experience working and conducting training in a virtual environment
  • Excellent project management, time management and organizational skills, and ability to adapt in a fast-paced, changing environment
  • Flexibility in working with key stakeholders
