Total Rewards Manager
Lead the Total Rewards Team at a collaborative and flexible financial firm in Twin Cities!
Under the direction of the HR Director, this position is responsible for the management and administration of the company’s compensation and benefits programs and overseeing HR operations as part of the Total Rewards Team. The Total Rewards Manager is responsible for planning, designing, implementing and administering a comprehensive total rewards strategy, with programs, policies and procedures that align with company goals and competitive practices. This role oversees the total reward team and ensures the programs are consistently administered in compliance with internal policies and government regulations. 

Roles and Responsibilities:

Compensation Management, Administration & Analysis (60%)
•    Monitors and reviews the effectiveness of existing compensation policies and programs, recommending plan revision as well as new plan design which are consistent with compensation trends and company objectives.
•    Member of the Internal Compensation Committee; responsible for coordinating the meeting schedule, preparing agendas and materials, and managing the calendar of work.
•    Provides advice and guidance to business leaders, managers and supervisors on compensation related issues, identification of compensation structure for new positions and job offers, and the design of creative solutions to specific compensation-related challenges.
•    Manages the administration of the annual salary review process, from budgeting and market analysis, to incorporating performance scores and compa-ratios with final pay decisions, to coordinating the communication and processing for payroll.
•    Conducts annual risk assessments on variable compensation programs, working with business leaders on plan design and risk mitigation where necessary.
•    Coordinates process for reviewing, documenting, tracking and paying variable compensation programs; working with department managers to ensure quality reporting, effectiveness of program structure, alignment with company strategies and goals, and appropriate balance of payout with profitability.
•    Manages the annual Performance Bonus process to include collaboration with department leaders and managers to identify individual, team, and company targets and associated year-end results and payout calculation, along with communication and payment process.
•    Participate in various annual salary surveys and manage data systems and reports.
•    Utilize market information to maintain salary ranges and appropriate pay structures based upon our markets, industry, and asset size.

Benefits Program Management, Administration, and Analysis (20%)
•    Plans and directs implementation and administration of employee benefit programs such as medical, dental, vision, disability and life insurances, workers compensation, retirement and other plans.
•    Works with broker to review and analyze the benefits data to determine employee needs, trends, regulations and practices, and develops competitive programs to meet company benefits strategy that helps retain and attract key talent.
•    Participates in benefits program analysis and reviews to support decision making in programs being offered.
•    Lead and coordinates with the Benefits Specialist to prepare and communicate information to employees and former employees as applicable about benefit programs, procedures, changes and government mandated disclosures.
•    Serves as subject matter expert on leaves of absence including FMLA, short term disability and worker’s compensation claims.

HR Team Operations, Data Analysis and Reporting (10%)
•    Oversee payroll administration, ensuring efficiency, accuracy, and timeliness of associated processes and government reporting.
•    Collaborate across the HR team to ensure policies that affect payroll, benefits and compensation are appropriately aligned.
•    Oversee HR systems administration to include vendor management. 
•    Develop, maintain and support customized compensation reports to meet department and management analysis needs.
•    Track metrics, analyze trends and outcomes, and ensure effectiveness of compensation and benefits programs with regard to identified business needs and goals.
•    Prepare meaningful analysis of the survey data in comparison to our data.
•    Prepare reports and charts that support compensation and benefits budgets and decisions.
•    Work with HRMS Analyst to ensure that the systems meet compensation needs and are maintained to reflect changes to salary structures, bonus programs, efficient workflow, etc.

General Human Resources Team and Management Activities (10%)
•    Work with managers and HR Business Partners to ensure complaint and issue resolution.
•    Participate in organization of employee meetings, parties, activities and recognition events as necessary.
•    Monitors performance of Total Rewards team members, providing continuous feedback and formal goal setting through the formal review process. 
•    Develops team goals, objectives and tracking/reporting systems.
•    Manages workflow of staff, coordinating and shifting resources to assigned areas as necessary 
•    Recommends new approaches, policies and procedures to effect continual improvements in efficiency of the department and services performed. 
•    Provide team back up coverage for areas as necessary.
•    Stay abreast of innovative human resources ideas, trends and methods via HR publications and educational opportunities.
•    Keeps apprised of federal, state, and local compensation laws and regulations as well as general employment law areas to ensure Company compliance.

Required Skills and Experience:
• Bachelor’s degree in business, human resources, or any equivalent combination of experience and training that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
• Previous 5 or more years of HR experience in the analysis, design, and/or administration of compensation and/or benefits programs, including knowledge of state and federal regulations. Preference given for experience in the financial services industry or experience with incentive compensation programs. 
• Understanding and application of a variety of Human Resources concepts, practices and procedures.
• Fast-paced, professional office environment.
• Strong working knowledge of excel spreadsheets.
