Vice President, Clinical Operations
An Assisted Living Nursing Executive opportunity to lead Directors of Nursing and clinical staff to ensure optimal care and safety for residents across the organizational portfolio. Identify opportunities for improvement, strive for best practice, engage staff, residents and families. As a member of the organization's Senior Leadership Team, make recommendations, implement initiatives, execute on strategy to align with the short and long term goals of the organization.

The Vice President of Clinical Operations will oversee the delivery of health care and supportive services provided by the campus Directors of Nursing and the direct care staff within the organizational portfolio.  This role will make a daily, positive difference in people’s lives by helping to recruit, train, inspire and retain a team of healthcare professionals. Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Member of the Senior Living Leadership Team and a subject matter expert for the company on clinical operations.
  • Support on-site operations in achieving high quality and efficient delivery of care with appropriate clinical supervision through standard role definitions, staffing models, onboarding processes, clinical processes, and metric monitoring.
  • Develops and iterates on standard clinical models and processes to deliver consistent high quality, efficient and compliant patient centered care.
  • Leads standardization in the areas of policies and procedures, personnel management, quality improvement, compliance, clinical documentation, licensing and accreditation.
  • Oversees the development and implementation of training program for all new home care employees and nurses as well as annual training to ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements, industry best practices and meeting high expectations of delivering quality care.
  • Provide ongoing performance management/development (specifically with DON) with a focus on high engagement and collaboration while promoting high levels of satisfaction and retention with onsite staff.
  • Responsible for understanding regulations in the states in which we operate and maintaining a program of policies and practices to maintain compliance with those regulations.
  • Provides tools, resources and education to enable ongoing monitoring of quality with the ability to implement timely and appropriate corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with the management team to develop and implement plans for the operational infrastructure of systems, processes, and personnel designed to accommodate the rapid growth objectives of the organization.
  • Lead by example, ensure outstanding attention to detail in resident care and wellbeing, demonstrate effective communication.
  • Review, revise and develop new policies and procedures, implementation, review and revising for organizational healthcare delivery services.
  • Determine staffing needs based on resident care levels and works with Directors of Nursing to maintain appropriate levels of patient care to ensure profitability.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Required Skills and Experience:

  • Degree from accredited Registered Nurse (RN) program.
  • Must be registered and licensed with the State of Minnesota as a RN. 
  • Experience in assisted living leadership and management, preferably in a multi-site capacity.
  • Must be knowledgeable of all State & Federal Assisted Living regulatory & compliance mandates. 
  • Good organizational skills with the ability to self-start and follow through with initiatives with a minimal amount of supervision. 
  • Possesses good judgment, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience using a resident record computerized system.
  • Experience with EOS (Entrepreneurial Operating System)
