Job Description

The Vice President of Finance is responsible for analyzing information, identifying opportunities, and leading projects to implement improved business practices across the US and Canada.

The ideal candidate will have experience working in a shared-services setting, building successful relationships with key business stakeholders, exceptional customer service skills, the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment and the capability to deliver results. This role will work closely with the executive management team, other leaders, and team members across the organization. 

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Oversee Finance team; including growth and development of the finance team, implementation of excellent process and controls and attracting top talent to join the team
  • Oversee expense management
  • Develop and maintain KPIs, business plans, models and budgets
  • Enact and enforce financial policies
  • Outline financial risks to the leadership team and assist them with weighing the benefits of certain decisions
  • Work collaboratively with leadership to model forward looking short-term and long-term growth plans that contribute to the leadership's team initiatives
  • Prepare data for daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual reporting; Prepare data for board meetings
  • Partner with COO to drive more cost-efficient operations; Support the development of operations and supply chain efficiency tools and analytics
  • Prepare and develop short and long-term plans, monthly, quarterly and annual goals; implement and drive performance assessment rhythms; partner in defining and driving actions to meet operations goals
  • Monitor the financial health of the organization from daily transactions to quarterly reporting; Help Company set and hit its financial targets
  • Direct process to define and deliver ad hoc analysis, standard reports, and recommendations to Senior Leadership Team
  • Pro-actively drive strategy and Finance discussions for process, organization and system improvements
  • Identify and evaluate risks and opportunities for the business
  • Project support as required including participating in due-diligence process of potential acquisitions

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree, advanced degree preferred, in Finance
  • 15+ years of financial planning & analysis, reporting and/or BI analytics in Supply Chain Operations
  • Leadership experience, with preference given to managing associates at multiple remote locations
  • Highly effective communicator able to drive results, measure and assess performance
  • Ability to organize, prioritize, and lead through others in a fast-paced environment with internal deadlines
  • Hands-on approach to improve processes while working with others
  • Experience interacting with Senior Leadership
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams
  • Strong preference for candidates with demonstrated experience defining and implementing solutions to challenging business problems
  • Strong "ownership" of responsibilities and outcomes
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills
  • Excellent data analytics skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to manage competing demands and deal with frequent change
  • Ability to interact with all functional areas and organizational levels, including senior management

  • Ability to travel to field locations is desirable; Role may require approx. 25% travel at times
