Our client, a leading curved metal framing system manufacturer, is seeking a highly experienced and results-oriented Quality Manager to lead our quality initiatives. The successful candidate will be responsible for implementing and maintaining a comprehensive Quality Management System (QMS) to ensure consistent production of high-quality products and drive continuous improvement throughout manufacturing operations. This role demands a strong background in manufacturing processes, proven leadership skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with all levels of the organization. The Quality Manager will work closely with the VP of Manufacturing, Production Manager, Assembly Manager, Logistics Manager, and all manufacturing floor personnel.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Conduct an in-depth analysis of current manufacturing processes to understand the production of cold-formed steel framing thoroughly.  
  • Develop, implement, and maintain a comprehensive Quality Management System (QMS) tailored to Radius Track's specific manufacturing operations, ensuring compliance with relevant standards and regulations.  
  • Establish and maintain quality standards, procedures, work instructions, and inspection criteria for all stages of the manufacturing process.  
  • Collaborate with production teams and managers to integrate quality control measures into daily operations, providing guidance and support to foster a culture of quality ownership.  
  • Develop and oversee the execution of quality control activities, including in-process inspections, final product inspections, and testing protocols.  
  • Collect, analyze, and interpret quality data using statistical process control (SPC) and other analytical tools to identify trends, defects, and opportunities for process optimization. 
  • Lead investigations into quality issues, determine root causes using methodologies such as root cause analysis (RCA) and 8D, and implement effective corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).  
  • Drive a culture of continuous improvement by applying Lean manufacturing principles and other improvement methodologies to enhance product quality, process efficiency, and minimize waste.  
  • Maintain accurate and organized records of quality control activities, inspections, audits, and corrective actions, ensuring compliance with documentation requirements.  
  • Plan, conduct, and manage internal audits to assess QMS effectiveness, identify areas for improvement, and ensure ongoing compliance.  
  • Prepare and present regular reports to the VP of Operations on quality performance, trends, improvement initiatives, and key performance indicators (KPIs).  
  • Manage supplier quality, including evaluating supplier performance, conducting supplier audits (if necessary), and ensuring the quality of incoming materials and components (if applicable).  
  • Facilitate problem-solving and resolution of complex quality-related issues on the manufacturing floor, working collaboratively with cross-functional teams.  

 

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Manufacturing, Industrial, or Mechanical preferred), Quality Management, or a related technical field; Master's degree a plus.  
  • 7-10 + years of progressive experience in quality assurance or quality control within a manufacturing environment, with demonstrated success in leading quality initiatives and teams.  
  • 5 + years of experience in developing, implementing, and maintaining a comprehensive Quality Management System (QMS), including experience with ISO 9001.  
  • 5 + years of knowledge of quality control principles, methods, tools, and methodologies, including SPC, FMEA, 8D, Lean, and Six Sigma.
  • 5 + years of strong project management and cross-functional project implementation success.
  • Ability to interpret complex technical drawings, specifications, and industry standards.  

Preferred:

  • Six Sigma Black Belt or Green Belt certification, Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) certification, or ISO 9001 Lead Auditor certification.
  • Experience in roll-forming, modular construction, or metal forming industries.

Salary DOQ:  95-120K
