Join a fast-growing company as a strategic HR Director. This exciting role helps manage and shape HR strategies, culture, and talent acquisition processes while this exciting company scales across multiple divisions.

The Director of HR is a key player in shaping success—leading everything from hiring and benefits to building an awesome, high-performing culture. Our client is growing fast, so they need someone who's strategic, hands-on, and great at partnering with leadership to make sure they attract, keep, and grow the best talent across the company.

Location : Eden Prairie - Hybrid

Compensation: Base $120,000 - $140,000 with 20% Bonus

Benefits: This is a start up company and currently the employees do not receive any benefits. It will be up to this HR Person to select a Broker and pick a plan ASAP. 

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Own end-to-end recruiting across all teams—making sure we hire the right people, fast.
  • Partner with hiring managers to define roles, craft compelling job descriptions, and align on what "great" looks like.
  • Try new and creative ways to find amazing talent—we're talking beyond job boards.
  • Improve the hiring process so it's quick, clear, and creates a standout experience for candidates.
  • Build a talent pipeline through strong relationships with agencies, schools, and industry connections.
  • Lead the charge on designing benefits that are competitive, cost-effective, and reflect our values as we scale.
  • Work with vendors and brokers to negotiate benefits that make sense for a growing team.
  • Stay on top of compliance and make sure our benefits meet all legal requirements.
  • Keep a pulse on how the team feels about their benefits and make improvements where needed.
  • Help build a culture that's engaging, inclusive, and performance-driven—where people want to stick around and grow.
  • Design leadership development and recognition programs that make a real impact.
  • Be a thought partner to the leadership team on org design, people strategy, and change management.
  • Lead DEI initiatives that go beyond checkboxes and are baked into how the company operates.
  • Support major changes like reorganizations or acquisitions with clear communication and smooth execution.
  • Drive org development work to improve how teams collaborate and communicate.
  • Make sure our people practices support growth while staying nimble and startup-friendly.
  • Roll out practical performance management and development frameworks that grow with us.
  • Keep us compliant with labor laws—things move fast, but they play by the rules.
  • Use HR data to guide decisions and show what's working (and what's not).
  • Own core HR ops—think comp reviews, employee records, performance tracking, etc.
  • Work with founders and team leads to manage the people budget and spend wisely.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in HR, Business, or a related field (bonus if you have a Master's or HR certification like SHRM-SCP or SPHR).
  • 10+ years of HR experience, including at least 5 in a leadership role—ideally in a startup or high-growth environment.
  • Proven ability to build and scale recruiting efforts across multiple teams.
  • Deep experience designing and managing employee benefits that grow with the business.
  • Track record of leading culture change, developing leaders, and supporting teams through growth and change.
  • Solid understanding of HR compliance (especially helpful if you've worked in industries like manufacturing or construction).
  • Experience with EOS is a plus.
  • Strong communicator and relationship-builder—you can connect with anyone from interns to execs.
  • Business-savvy: You get how HR drives growth and scalability.
  • High EQ with a pragmatic, hands-on leadership style.
  • Comfortable using data to tell stories and back decisions.
  • Tech-forward: you're fluent in HR tools and systems and always looking for ways to automate and streamline
