As CFO, you will serve as a key advisor to the CEO and the principal financial voice to the Board of Directors, shaping the company's financial strategy while directly influencing its broader business direction. Under the direction of the CEO, the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) provides strategic financial and business leadership.  The CFO is primarily responsible for project finance, planning, implementing, managing, and controlling all company financial-related activities. This includes direct responsibility for accounting, finance, forecasting, strategic planning, information technology, payroll, compliance, and other functional responsibilities as assigned. The CFO is a player-coach manager working closely with their direct reports and the senior management team.
The CFO (in addition to the CEO) is the Board of Directors' (BOD's) key representative on the management team and is accountable to the BOD to ensure key governance requirements are followed.
The CFO is responsible for the formulation and development of broad policies, effective procedures, and procedural improvements of financial systems as they relate to budget and financial functions. 
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Collaborates with the Chief Executive Officer, Chief Operations Officer, and General Managers to develop and implement the company's overall business strategy.

  • Provides recommendations for corrective actions in cases of significant deviations from business or profit plans.

  • Establishes and maintains strong, collaborative relationships with other senior leaders across the organization to understand departmental needs and deliver comprehensive business solutions.

  • Partners with Human Resources leadership to guide internal support services, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.

  • Provides leadership in continuously evaluating and refining the company's short- and long-term strategic financial objectives.

  • Leads the preparation, review, analysis, and communication of financial records to support strategic decision-making by leadership.

  • Ensures timely financial close processes and completion of all checklist items in accordance with timelines agreed upon with the investor group.

  • Maintains robust internal controls to prevent significant deficiencies and material weaknesses during the annual audit. Supports the audit process and supports external relationships with auditors and financial or systems consultants to drive continuous improvement and value-added outcomes.

  • Manage the financial forecasting and budgeting processes. Provides strategic recommendations to enhance financial performance and identify business growth opportunities.

  • Develops and monitors annual revenue, expense, and capital expenditure budgets, regularly tracking performance against established benchmarks.

  • Prepares and communicates revenue and cash flow forecasts to the Chief Executive Officer and General Managers, ensuring proactive financial planning.

  • Evaluates existing financial systems and organizational structures, making improvements to align with the company's strategic vision.

  • Provides oversight and leadership for the Finance, Accounting, and Payroll departments, ensuring effective and compliant operations.

  • Oversees the Contracts Department, ensuring sound contractual management practices.

  • Leads the Information Technology (IT) function, aligning technological infrastructure with operational and strategic needs.

  • Directs the development of forward-looking, monthly financial forecasts across multiple lines of business.

  • Manages the financial and contractual components of joint ventures, ensuring compliance and performance alignment.

  • Advises executive leadership on the financial impact of long-range planning, the introduction of new programs or strategies, and regulatory developments.

  • Supports the company's investor group in managing capital and liquidity, offering guidance on investment strategies, and overseeing debt and equity matters.

  • Produces clear, insightful presentations communicating financial performance at the enterprise and operating unit levels. Develops key performance indicators and metrics that enhance transparency and support the effectiveness of the Business Development team.

  • Oversees all financial and accounting operations to ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and relevant federal and state financial and tax regulations. Leads the implementation of sound accounting procedures, processes, and policies while fostering leadership development and growth within the team.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's in Accounting / Finance or related field.

  • Experience in project finance environments in a service-based organization is considered highly relevant.

  • M&A experience and private equity familiarity are valuable for the incoming CFO due to refinancing and anticipated transactions.

Salary: $225k-$275k
