Roles & Responsibilities:
- Deliver on target performance of key performance indicators (KPI) related to production and manufacturing operations, including OEE, Schedule Adherence, and Unplanned Downtime %, through implementation of daily management routines and standardized review structures
- Lead continuous improvement efforts within manufacturing by implementing Lean principles through Line Focus Teams and technical resource deployment to deliver year-over-year performance gains
- Establish, track, and maintain operational data to enable successful daily and weekly management of KPI as well as identification of improvement opportunities and monitoring of improvement efforts
- Provide leadership to front-line supervisors and managers within production and maintenance, as well as to technical and engineering resources, to ensure consistent manufacturing performance at a level that guarantees delivery of the annual business plan
- Identify, prioritize, and implement key manufacturing systems, policies, and projects to ensure all products manufactured meet critical quality attributes and specifications and are "right first time" in the areas of bulk formulation, sterile filling and inspection, and solid oral dose manufacturing systems
- Optimize production scheduling in concert with manufacturing to deliver customer orders at the lowest cost and optimal performance.
- Assure appropriate staffing to deliver the production schedule.
- Manage work priorities and timelines, establish team priorities, and allocate resources appropriately to ensure assigned department goals and KPI are achieved
- Motivate and lead a high-performance management team, focused on the development and engagement of people.
- Lead from the manufacturing floor, instilling a culture of servant leadership
- Assure successful, on-time delivery of new product commercialization initiatives within manufacturing by providing technical evaluation of product compatibility, adequate piloting, and trialing
- Manage plant operating costs and expenditures within the defined budget
- Maintain OSHA, environmental, GMP, and other regulatory agency compliance within manufacturing
- Carries out supervisory responsibilities by the organization's policies and applicable laws
- Interviews, hires, and trains employees; plans, assigns, and directs work; appraises performance; rewards and disciplines employees; addresses complaints and resolves problems
Required Skills & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in manufacturing, operations, mechanical, or industrial Engineering, science discipline, or similar field preferred
- Over 10 years of experience in a federally regulated industry.
- 5 + years of leadership experience in product manufacturing required
- Experience working/scheduling in a high-volume/high-mix environment
- 5 + years working in strong Lean cultures
- Ful P/L experience
- Strong understanding of US and international regulations on dietary supplements; cGMPs a plus
- Demonstrated history of driving improvement in manufacturing performance, process optimization, and culture as measured through culture surveys
