Compensation Consultant (ID:47005)
Are you a Compensation expert with an eye for details? We may have the perfect role for you! An iconic powersports brand—newly independent and rebuilding its HR infrastructure—is looking for a part-time Compensation Consultant to support a high-impact compensation redesign. This short-term, strategic engagement is ideal for a seasoned comp professional with experience in manufacturing environments and a firm grasp of pay structures and incentive design.

This 4–5 week contract (estimated) is for a skilled part-time Compensation Consultant. The role supports a critical compensation project, including rebuilding job level ranges, base pay structures and designing potential incentive plans. The organization has recently separated from a large parent company and is now establishing its own HR operations—this project will directly impact compensation strategy in the future.

 

Worksite Location: Hybrid (HQ in Thief River Falls, MN)

Salary Range: 15-20 hours a week @ $75-$90/hour, DOE

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Analyze and redesign compensation ranges and job-level structures
  • Develop and recommend variable pay and profit-sharing plans
  • Partner with HR leadership and business stakeholders on strategy and implementation
  • Provide insights and best practices from prior comp strategy work, especially in manufacturing environments
  • Deliver project-based recommendations within a 4–5 week engagement window

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Compensation and/or total rewards experience
  • Proven success in building and adjusting comp structures pay grades, and variable pay programs
  • Manufacturing or industry-adjacent experience is highly preferred (especially in mid-sized organizations with rural/remote workforces)
  • Ability to work independently, consultatively, and on a part-time remote basis
  • Strong Excel and data analysis capabilities
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
