Our client seeks an accomplished and execution-driven COO to lead and scale operations in a rapidly growing IT Managed Services Provider (MSP). The COO will be instrumental in driving operational excellence, evolving internal systems, and preparing the business for its next phase of growth, including M&A integration, multi-site scalability, and service innovation.

We are seeking an accomplished and execution-driven Chief Operating Officer (COO) to lead and scale operations in a rapidly growing IT Managed Services Provider (MSP). The COO will be instrumental in driving operational excellence, evolving internal systems, and preparing the business for its next phase of growth, including M&A integration, multi-site scalability, and service innovation. This role requires a strategic operator who thrives in dynamic environments and brings a proven track record of scaling service-based businesses through both organic and inorganic growth.

Worksite Location: Eden Prairie, MN

Compensation Range: The total compensation could exceed $300,000/yr.

Roles & Responsibilities:

Operations & Scalability

  • Lead Help Desk, Field, Professional, and Account Services.
  • Build scalable models for growth, expansion, and evolving offerings.
  • Standardize processes and platforms to protect quality and margins.

M&A Integration

  • Drive due diligence, assessment, and post-acquisition integration.
  • Align people, systems, delivery, and culture under one framework.
  • Realize synergies and harmonize processes to maximize value.

Strategy & Execution

  • Translate corporate goals into actionable operational plans.
  • Partner with the CEO and executives on strategic priorities and growth.
  • Lead cross-functional initiatives to enhance maturity and enterprise value.

Client Experience

  • Oversee the end-to-end client journey and SLA adherence.
  • Improve KPIs, uptime, resolution times, NPS, and retention.
  • Embed a client-first mindset across all operations.

Team & Leadership

  • Build and scale high-performing operational and service leaders.
  • Foster accountability, continuous improvement, and data-driven decisions.
  • Drive leadership development and succession planning.

Financial Performance

  • Manage budgets, forecasts, and key financial metrics.
  • Optimize costs without sacrificing quality.
  • Partner with Finance for transparency and profitability.

Technology & Innovation

  • Oversee the adoption and optimization of IT systems.
  • Use automation/AI to boost speed, accuracy, and efficiency.
  • Stay ahead of trends in cloud, security, and digital services.

Required Skills & Experience

  • 10+ years of senior operations leadership in IT Services or related industry, with 5+ years in a fast-growing
  • Managed Services, Cloud Services, or similar environment.
  • Demonstrated success in leading post-M&A integration is a plus.
  • Proven experience scaling an MSP or tech-enabled service business is a plus.
  • Deep operational knowledge of IT infrastructure, cloud services, cybersecurity, and service desk management.
  • Strong financial acumen with a track record of delivering margin expansion, efficiency, and service scalability.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Computer Science, or Engineering; MBA or equivalent advanced degree preferred.
  • Travel Required - 15-20%
