The Director of HR is a key strategic leadership role responsible for guiding a team of HR Business Partners and a Compensation Manager in supporting business and people strategies across the organization. Reporting to the Chief People Officer, this position plays a vital role in aligning HR initiatives with company values, ensuring an exceptional staff experience, and driving continuous improvement in leadership effectiveness, performance management, and organizational development.
Worksite Location: Minneapolis, MN – Hybrid; onsite 3–4 days per week.
Salary Range: $175K – $200K/year base salary

Roles & Responsibilities:
• Serve as a trusted advisor to senior leadership, integrating people strategies into business planning and performance objectives
• Lead, mentor, and inspire a team of HR Business Partners and Compensation professionals to deliver strategic HR solutions and support across all business areas
• Oversee the planning and delivery of key HR initiatives, including performance management, leadership development, workforce planning, and change management
• Provide thought leadership on culture, engagement, and belonging, ensuring programs foster inclusion and alignment with organizational values
• Partner with leaders and HR colleagues to guide organizational design, succession planning, and talent strategy execution
• Support and influence compensation strategy and total rewards programs aligned with company philosophy
• Advise on complex employee relations and compliance issues to ensure legal integrity and risk mitigation
• Use HR data and metrics to provide insights that drive decision-making and organizational improvement
Required Skills & Experience:
• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (advanced degree or HR certification preferred)
• 10+ years of progressive HR Business Partner experience, including 5+ years leading HRBP teams
• Strong background in talent management, engagement, performance, compensation, and change leadership
• Exceptional relationship-building, communication, and influencing skills
• High level of business acumen and analytical ability to align people strategies with organizational goals
• Deep knowledge of employment law, compliance, and risk management across multiple locations
• Demonstrated ability to lead with integrity, humility, and a commitment to organizational values
