EHS Site Leader

Headquartered in the Greater Minneapolis, MN area, our client is one of the largest privately held manufacturers of building materials in the US, with distribution throughout the US and Canada.  Our client sets the standard for quality, service and innovation. This essential role will champion a culture of safety and environmental compliance, aligning closely with our leadership to implement and enhance EHS programs. The EHS Site Leader will oversee our safety initiatives, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and fostering a safe work environment for all employees. This position reports directly to the Director of Manufacturing.

Location: West of Minneapolis, MN.  This is an onsite position; only local applications will be considered.

Salary Range: $90k - $120k

Benefits: 401K with up to 5% match and generous profit sharing.  Comprehensive health benefits including medical, dental, HSA contributions, and paid parental leave.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the Director of Manufacturing and Production Manager to develop and implement EHS policies, procedures, and objectives.

  • Lead initiatives to cultivate a safety-first culture, prioritizing employee health and safety.

  • Ensure compliance with environmental standards and regulations, including adherence to IDEM and federal regulations behind the site's applicable environmental programs which are: Industrial Stormwater Management, Hazardous Waste Management, Industrial Discharge (wastewater), Air Monitoring (Title V) and Chemical Storage.

  • Maintain comprehensive records for audits and regulatory reporting, including OSHA and environmental requirements.

  • Drive continuous improvement of EHS policies and training programs to optimize safety performance and regulatory compliance.

  • Stay up to date with EHS trends, policies, regulations, and industry’s best practices.

  • Coordinate and conduct safety training sessions for new hires and existing staff, including emergency procedures and workplace safety.

  • Lead safety meetings, routine audits, and accident investigations, providing actionable insights for improvement.

  • Maintain positive relationships with managers, supervisors, employees, customers, and regulatory agencies to foster a proactive safety environment.

  • Ensure accurate data management and reporting for audits, investigations, and regulatory compliance.


 Required Skills & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field with a minimum of 3 years of EHS-related experience.

  • Proven experience in managing EHS programs and compliance with IDEM and federal regulations.

  • Ability to function in ambiguity and ability to have success creating and implementing processes – change management.

  • Highly organized and proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.

  • Wastewater licensing is a plus.

  • Bilingual helpful (Spanish speaking).
