Fractional IT Strategy Consultant

Southern Suburbs, MN

A growing multi-site manufacturing organization is seeking an experienced IT leader on a fractional consulting basis to assess its current technology environment and develop a strategic roadmap for future growth. This engagement will evaluate the organization's IT structure, systems, vendors, cybersecurity, infrastructure, and business applications while identifying opportunities to improve efficiency, scalability, and governance.

Location: Hybrid in Burnsville, MN
Hourly Rate: $125-150/hr DOE

Role & Responsibilities:
The consultant will partner with executive leadership to assess current-state capabilities, identify organizational and technology gaps, and deliver actionable recommendations, including a 1–3 year technology roadmap, operating model improvements, and guidance on internal versus outsourced IT services.

Required Experience and Skills:

Former Director of IT, VP of IT, CIO, or equivalent technology executive
Experience leading IT assessments, organizational design, and technology strategy
Strong background in manufacturing environments, ERP ecosystems, infrastructure, cybersecurity, and enterprise applications
Proven ability to balance strategic planning with practical execution
Experience managing vendors, MSPs, and cross-functional technology initiatives
Excellent executive communication and stakeholder management skills
