General Manger
Seeking a strategic and growth-oriented General Manager to lead a business unit serving the agricultural and animal nutrition markets. This role carries full P&L responsibility and oversight of sales, marketing, operations, nutrition, and veterinary services while driving business performance and long-term growth. The position offers the opportunity to lead an experienced team, influence company strategy, and make a significant impact on a growing organization.
A leading animal nutrition and livestock solutions provider serving producers across the Midwest with a comprehensive portfolio of feed, nutrition, veterinary, and production support services is seeking a General Manager who will lead, support, and direct the efforts of their newest acquisition in Sioux Falls, SD. This position is fully responsible for the division’s overall performance directly managing a team consisting of Director of Marketing, Director of Sales, Nutritionist, Inside Sales Manager, COO, and Director of Vet Services. This position will work as a key member of the company’s leadership team developing strategic and tactical plans to achieve overall company goals.

- Strategic Leadership: Set division strategy aligned with the corporation’s overall goals by translating corporate priorities into clear division-level plans while identifying growth opportunities (new markets, products, acquisitions). Continuously assess competitive position and adjust direction.
- Financial Accountability: Full ownership of the division’s profit and loss (P&L) including revenue growth, cost management, and profitability. Develop and manage budgets, forecasts, and capital allocation.
- Execution: Ensure the division operates efficiently and effectively by ensuring collaboration and teamwork between all departments through metrics, shared goals, and teamwork. Drive continuous improvement and productivity gains.
- Leadership & Talent Management: Build and lead the division’s leadership team. Develop high-performing leaders and succession pipelines. Shape culture, accountability, and execution discipline.
- Sales, Market & Customer Focus: Drive top-line growth by overseeing sales strategy and execution, key customer relationships, market positioning and branding. Ensure the division stays customer-centric and competitive.
- Cross-Functional & Corporate Alignment: Collaborate with corporate leadership ensuring alignment with enterprise-wide strategies and goals. Balance division autonomy with enterprise efficiency.
- Capital & Resource Allocation: Decide where to invest in new products, technology, and facilities. Prioritize initiatives for highest return on capital.
- Risk Management & Governance: Ensure compliance with legal requirements and governance standards. Identify and manage operational, financial, and strategic risks.
- Reporting & Communication: Report performance to President, CEO, and Board including financial updates, strategic progress, risk assessments.
- B.S. or M.S in Animal Science, Agriculture, Economics, Business, Sales and Marketing or related field
- Qualified and proven experience in lieu of educational requirements
- 5 or more years of experience in leadership roles
- Ability to build a collaborative, motivating environment
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both group settings and one-on-one
- Strong negotiating and decision-making skills
- Technical and technology related skills
